Mini Ride Report from Yest
Con and I headed out after lunch for for a bit of a foray down south agian. I just wanted to get out for a couple of hours and get a feel for the bike after I had tweaked a few settings and just generally work on getting my bike confidence back up agian. We stopped for a coffee at Hallet cove down near the beach and headed south hugging the coastline wherever we could. Actually before that we were dicking around Marino/Hallet cove following Con as he heads across some sort of overgrown car track heading towards the main road......very slippery wet grass .............look up, Fark me a motorcycle police officer sitting at the end of the track watching the traffic on the main road whislt partially hidden ...........Arrrrhhhhhhhhhhh......eeek quick U turn and off back from where we came.ROFL........Iam sure he didn't see us, but if we had any sort of speed up Iam sure we wouldn't have been able to stop until we would have been right alongside of him .......still ROFL about that one. I didn't take many pics at all, mainly because we found some rather technical trials (pit bike tracks probably) and its probably best if I didn't put any of those pics up lets just say it may have been in close proximity to some railway tracks or creek beds with some tricky drop offs involved.........other than that it was too the beach whenever we could. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Bugger ![]() Questions and Comments I tweaked the 950SE to make it more rideable and I will continue to share that journey. I find it quite interesting some of the attention the Super Enduro attracts.its just a bike and needs dialling in like any race bred machine. I pulled the forks down in the tripples about 4mm to the first of the two marker lines and loosed off the rear spring one turn. This made the bike much easier to handle/ride although I found it still a bit nervous on the front end in the slow tight stuff.(the bike was designed to handle the range of tight technical to full high speed riding) and I will probably pull the fork tubes down another 2 or 3 mm (probably2mm) The rear spring is too soft and is would up very tight hence the bike does not give very much, just loosening it up one turn helped on the higher speed cornering as the steering would respond a bit as I moved my body weight back or forward a bit. I will loosen it off one more turn next time out. i would like to have the rear shock serviced and a new spring but funds are a bit tight at the moment so I am just fiddling to get a feel for it for now. The power......well to be honest it could do with some more punch in the bottom and mid, it would be a very nice machine if it had that extra punch, i can see why the FCR carbs and the CPR airfilter mods are so popular. For the type of bike it is and for how it was engineered more punch would be a delight, have no doubt if you pull the throttle on and get the revs in the high range its a different animal, but i don't want to ride it like a two stroke. These are just my thoughts, I fell it was a watershed day for me, I came back really pumped up with confidence, it was a buzz. Thank you Con for all your encouragement and aslo for trying to raise the bar after I found that tricky little track on the side of that steep incline............. ![]() ![]() I didn't drop the bike once .thats a good day out ![]() We got back about 6.00 .not bad as Con was due at a family BBQ at about 5/5.30 and we only looked at the clock when it was after 5.00 ........ ![]() I think we may have to organize a bit of a public southern ride soon whilst the hills are still green and the riding is cool. cheers A. |

Twas a good day out.
For a minute there I thought it was Con's Big Day Out....judging by all the photos ![]() I think everyone's now had their fill of my ugly mug plastered all over the interweb ![]() For the record, just got to the Mother-inlaws dinner table in time to sit down with the plate in front of me. A stern look from the misses meant I wasn't completely in the clear though ![]() I was more than a bit worried when we finally rode past that copper just as he was putting on the gloves but I reckon he knew the difference between a pittie and a real bike (KTM's) and let us go. ![]() What a beautiful place we live in.....the sun drenched cliff tops with rolling hills of green behind.....all within 1/2 an hour from home.....gotta love that. Cheers and thanks for the day out Gasman.

I only took a few pics and they pretty much had you in them, it was either that or another close up of the 950.
Bloody hell the coastline is beautiful this time of year. Don't worry Dave you'll get a call ![]() A. |
