Damn! Damn! Damn! Damn!

Finally a ride with the SA boys that I'm just busting at the seams to do AND a 'multiple-dayer' (just how I like them! )

and I gotta work ....

Anyways! We'll catch up Thursday night and at least I can glean some of the pre-trip excitement off you guys over a few beers (or in my case 50% beer / 50% tears)

A reminder to others who might have missed it:

Avoca Hotel
South Road Edwardstown

Thursday Night 26th Feb

7pm onwards - some drink, some eat, some eat and drink!

See you there!

Quite a dusty days riding at a very, very brisk pace, if I do say so, but fun all the same.

Here's their report

(interesting discussion near the end about courtesy for other land/road/track users etc)
Damn hitch hikers though
Luckily I've just taken delivery of fresh rubber after 13,000+ kms on this old dear.

Sorry H1, there's even more bad news, the ice truck will be on the salt during the day & at camp at evenings.
Now I just gotta calculate how many cans the ol' girl will carry.

Some of us passed through at 9.30 am after a wet start from Stirling , and running the gauntlet of three hand held guns - wobbling around at 50 km/hr has its benefits sometimes.

Hopefully they nicked some of the Skyline, Porsche and Classic rally guys, they were all out early.

Blame Master Brewer for that - go on a ride with him, get promised there is no rain so you dont put knobbys on and BAAM busted fibula and dislocated ankle - plus the Cowell bakery was crap

Then again Kym being the consumate team player busted his fibular too on the same trip in a show of solidarity - Thanks comrade

I would find it very difficult to trust someone who misleads fellow riders like that. If MasterBrewer promises one thing and it turns out to be wrong then he should not be trusted by any of us again.

I mean, how hard can it be to find a decent bakery - it's not like he hasn't done considerable market research.

It's just not on!

There's a little side trip out of Blinman, Johno, to some of the best pastry in SA, might have to drag Cougar there in May. It's a little bakery at Copley, just the other side of Leigh Creek South, where the pasties must be made by Angels they're that nice. It's only about 200 km round trip from Blinman, but if you buy an ice coffee as well, it makes it all worthwhile.

Then again, the girl who runs the Blinman General Store makes her own pasties, only when it pleases her mind you, and they are a pretty welcome treat after a lap around the Public Access Route in the morning.

Gets a little competitive when she only makes a few though.

Suck up time, Jase ...............you obviously haven't read this then:

Worlds Fastest Man may attempt record at Lake Gairdner 2010

I'm already in training ...................................... in my minds eye at least

Remember the 'ol' crap bakery' saying: "you can lead a man to a bakery, but you can't make him eat shit"

OK, an amends offer: maybe a detour to the Stone Hut Bakery along "The MB Way" to Blinman

S. A. has a crap bakery???? Ye Gods man! What have you all been doing?
I recommend a mass ride to the offending premises, insert baker into oven, set fire to premises, step back and enjoy.
