awesome conditions

I had a great ride today....absolute primo conditions-no dust, no mud...just perfect tacky dirt with traction!!!!! Mostly dirt via Gawler, Roseworthy, Wasleys, Freeling, Greenock, Angaston...you get the idea.

It may have been the first ride ever where I didn't stop at a pub or a bakery...sorry to let the team down.

My Old Girl Turned 100 Today

She left the Star Engineering Company factory in Wolverhampton, England bound for Australia in April 1913.

Spent most of her life on the roads around a little place in Victoria called Macorna until she wore out. Then she ended up in bits spread all over the original owners farm until my father spotted her in the late 60's, gathered all her bits up, brought her back to SA and restored her.

She's only a two owner car.

He gave her to me in the late 80's and she hasn't been out of the shed since about 1994. I dragged her out today, fixed 2 flat tyres and intend to sort out some rego this week and take her for a drive to celebrate her birthday.

Happy 100th old girl.

That's fabulous kipo, very lucky to have something like that tucked away.

By the way is that a case of reds next to the drivers door?

Now there's a thought. It is supposed to produce carbine gas for the headlights but I don't think it's ever worked so
I could hollow it out, put a cask bladder in there with a tube to the driver and happy days!

Yep. I'm sure you can be shit face driving a car as long as the car is pre 1920.

Sorta like seat belts in older cars.

Very nice Kipo, great to see a piece of history so well preserved. Look after it . Although I would be keen to see a trip to Artimore for a picnic and a few reds

I have googled the maker of Kipo's car and ends up that model was a trials winner around the UK. I reckon Possum had plans.

And, he was born at the Blinman Pub............and the way things go these days, one of his sons might finish his days there....
