And to cap it off, they only charged $20 to do the job.
Have found them very good to deal with.

I get my tyres from DA, also other various parts & they give me discount...never had a problem..!!!!

Shame about the muddy demise. No damage I hope.

The shots are brilliant, thanks. You must have an enormous lens to get that shot of Northern Hairpin thru Pacific Waste. - Very impressive.

Hi SA'ers

I am planning a trip from Melb - Melb going to the Flinders Rangers, all up 10 days. from around 22 Dec onwards. I'll be solo.

I will be on a 12gs with a front knobby. i am not much good on dirt but manage to get by at my own gentle pace (in sand i sometime even paddle).

Still, I like good dirt but am scarred of bulldust and harsh sand. I also like camping but want to be near water and not too far from civilization.

I read DR Trev's post to TopDogDave recently on Flinders. Whetted my appetite. And I haven't ridden through SA either (apart from one trip to Adelaide 12 years ago), so it's high time.

I would appreciate your advice on the suggested route to take, the entire 10 days.

You can also PM me.

Gad

Quorn/Hawker/Wilpena Pound/Blinman via Bunyeroo Gorge/Arkaroola via Chambers Gorge/Copley/Leigh Creek/Parachilna/Hawker.

Arkaroola-Ridge top tour. good accom (varied). Telescope.
Hawker-Moralana drive. Beautifull flowing dirt road, Hard packed.
Craddock Hotel, Great tucker.
Blinman Hotel, Good accom, Top Pub.
Parachilna Hotel, Cliche but good.
Hawker Pub, was good when J.S. had it.

Most of the touristy roads are well maintained, just keep an eye out for bulldust holes a the end of the season.

And much much more.
Cheers,
PB

Two thumbs up for Road & Race MC

Hi All.
Thanks to all those who made suggestions about tyre stores. My two thumbs up go to Jason at Road and Race on Churchill Road. Excellent friendly service, tyre ordered in for me, fitted quickly, stick on wheel weights. Happy Days!!
I got 14055kms out of an Anakee rear on the V Strom. Lets see what the new Battlwing 502 will do.
See you all at the next ride. Cheers Ian

southaustralia.com , the SA Gov tourist site has a excellent 100 page guide to the Flinders Ranges & Outback, which they will send you on request

Like all their guides there are plenty of detailed maps , which show every track you would want to use on a soft roader.

Might head up there end if October myself, so any more route suggestions/scenic detours are welcome.
