Just looked at the radar and it looks like you still have some wild storms in your area. Wish we could get some rain down here.

It is still raining lightly here, the forest got drenched earlier but it will probably only last a couple of days. Then the sand will be powder again. We have a chance of storms after midnight too, I hope they materialize.

When are you coming up to ride, Scott? You got a place to stay with us, no need for that trailer.

It was a great morning for a ride, but a great ride just wasn't meant to be. I made a mistake in one of those wash-outs on the Trail of Death, and launched myself into a tree. I bruised the back of my hand, it has a knot on it now The wrist is slightly sprained, but it will be ok. My pecker took a hell of a whack too!

I thought my face went straight into the tree, and I saw glass shattering in my face at the same time (that was my mirror, it was folded with glass facing rearward.) Justin said I went over the bars. I landed right beside the bike though, because I didn't have to reach much to turn it off.

Too much speed for the terrain, and not enough skills. That's all there is too it. The bike took a nice chunk out of the tree, but I can't find a mark on it. I have yellow on the back of my right glove, so I figured that is from the bark buster. That is what bruised my hand.

Oh well, at least I was able to finish riding the trail to the end. And ride back out. We were making good time, had nearly 40 miles of trails done by 10:30 or so, and we didn't get into the woods till almost 8:30.

I took some pics of the tree that jumped in front of me. Maybe Justin has some of me laying on the ground, they won't be very interesting though. Too bad you lost that helmet cam, that would have made good video. You must have asked at least 12 times if I was ok.

Its strange, now my left elbow hurts more than anything else. I didn't know it was hurt at all until after I got home.

Justin got a flat front tire as we arrived at the Dam Diner on the way home. I pulled over to call Kim because I realized that I forgot to bring a house key. Justin's keys were locked in my house too. We changed out his front tube twice and could not get the damn thing to hold air, so he rode it back 12 miles to my house with a front flat. Things just did not go well. But we made it back, and Kim was able to get off work for a bit to get home and hide one of my keys outside.

Was there an orange cone by the tree by any chance?

I am happy to report that I saw not a single orange cone in the forest today, Bob.

You can attach them if they are not too large, otherwise they need to be hosted on an external server or resized. With cell phone pics they will probably be small enough. The little paperclip icon above the message box is for attachments. You can only attach one photo per post with that method. If the are hosted, you can dump a bunch of them in one post.

Otherwise, email to me and I will host and post.

I still have not uploaded my pics.
