Sorry guys, I'm out for Sat. I called PK so he won't be waiting for me.
Have a great ride and be safe. Try not to ingest too much dust and smoke.
Get some good pics.

I hope you like hot and muggy weather with lots of rain in the summer.

You will be looking at a 3 1/2 hr ride to get to ONF from there. We need to head down to Richloam more often, its a cool place.

Tuned in too late

I tuned in post-ride and missed you all. Let's do another one soon. I just moved to Tavares in March from Palm Bay and the riding is definitely superior here.

Anytime you want to go out with the 9fiddy there are a couple of us here in Central Florida. Do you have knobs on yours ?
You know silver is faster.

I am running Metzeler Saharas right now, and I have never had knobbies on Karl (Karl der KTM) yet. He is a tall Orange model. A couple of years ago I had Karl in Ocala NF with some other ADV riders, so he is not a sand virgin. Right now Karl is having water pump problems and is in the shop for coolant seeping into the oil again.

Tall orange, a S ? Has the head bolt update been done? You can tell the threads are barley above the nuts and the nuts have a built in washer.
Mine was seeping past the gaskets. I have a spare pump kit if parts on backorder.
Getting together Memorial weekend with a couple of GS and another 950 . Probally will be doing the Old Brick road in flagler and the Daytona loop.

Good seeing you back on the bike today jaydee...the XT was carrying about 40lbs b/t/w. I gotta say the sound of dual Katooms was pretty cool.

Here's a brief ride report on my Saturday solo ride...

Saturday saw me out once again on the KLR. This time...another late start but the wheels were turning and I wound up....

Wandering in the Ocala NF. Important reminder here folks. Even if (when) you do the shock upgrades and use th heaviest springs available for a KLR...Do not ride it like you do your KTM...sometimes I get in the KTM mode and forget I'm on the KLR...ZOIKS, Scoob! I had this thing bottoming and pounding at 40 mph in the whoops! definetly not my 450MXC! Sorry, KLR...I know better. I shouldn't have given you the pounding, you're not made for that....so I slowed down and enjoyed a KLR ride once I had my head screwed on straight...

So then I wound up at Flagler Beach...now we're talkin'...

...and hung a turn onto Highbridge Rd...which is part of the famous "Loop" ride at Bike Week. It runs up John Anderson, Walter Boardman, across Highbridge and down A1A into Ormond Beach...a very nice and scenic ride. Twisty and tree covered with lots of photo ops like....

...drawbridge on the river opened for a sailboat...

So from here I wound up by Destination Daytona...the new hotel, harley dealer, hogworld themepark thing...Just something about the Harley scene...I don't get it...
...and here's something you don't see everyday...

...smoke from the fire that's burning up a google-load of acreage in the Relay management area...

But luckily, nothing by me as I make my way back into the ONF and across the state home...today's total: 11 hours and 425 miles of KLRing, riding dirt roads and pavement to some of the prettiest areas in the state...once again...you gotta get out there and explore...Florida is a beautiful place to be....

That little XT did good even without the key. Too bad you didn't get a pic of the hot wire key I made. Hey Scribe you aren't the only one to show up with a bike and no key. Maybe I should add a hotwire kit to my tool bag for you Guys
When do you get the Elefant? Hope you have it by Memorial weekend.
