I've got a bit of a leaky dust seal on one of my forks. I doubt that the forks have been serviced in the 5,000 miles of the bikes life. Should I use the leaky seal as a reason to change the oil on the forks? If I'm going that far, should I use it as a reason to have the front end resprung for my weight (200 pounds)?

I'm happy with the performance as they stand, but if I'm going to open the can shouldn't I get all the worms out?

Japanese air cooled bikes can be left in the corner gathering cobwebs indefinately and still be rideable in a few minutes. I had two air cooled Yamahas for 20 years while my kids were growing up. Kept them on the battery tender and they were always ready to go. I have sold them since but they are both still on the road today. Just my opinion posted on the internet and we all know what that is worth.

Every time i mess with my front end (front forks) i'll have to change oil/dust seals + fork oil, might is well it's apart and the oil 5w isn't that expansive so just go ahead & get it done.

Search for one from Jackpiner here or on TT. He has just created an excellent rack for the E model. His has optional side bag racks and a built-in mounting point for a fuel block.

Seat Concepts has one on their website as well. Just a rear rack.

Wow, those corners are awfully sharp on that homemade rack... nice design, otherwise.

There's nothing there a grinder and a flap disk cant remedy. Cudos for designing/having built your own rack.

Those that cant are the ones that point out minor flaws.

No need to be a douche. Exposed sharp corners are dangerous. Period.

Yep... There are already enough sharp, pointy and protruding bits on a bike that are ready to do some harm without adding more, but.... the the risk here is minimal. It is a fairly solid design.
