So how much weight can you shed off this bike if you really try? Can you get it under 300lbs?

![]() Everything they & their parrots reccomend is absolutely mandatory for all drz's, otherwise your bike will blow up or fall apart. I admit though, if you have a problem you can't figure out, there is someone over there who knows, and they'll blame your lack of manual cam chain tensioner, case savers, or radiator guards. |

I have one and have 3 different inserts for it. A fully arrested quiet core, a fully open insert, and a screen spark arrester. The pipe isnt any louder than my stock YZ 450f with the open insert, and is quieter than my stock yz 450f with the screen style spark arrester I normally run. My engine is fully built and runs best with the open insert, however the screen style is used 90% of the time because I like to be responsible and not risk fires. The fully arrested quiet core kills my HP on a built engine, and I never run that one. This pipe would not be my first choice for a stock bore DRZ 400 with a CV carb, I would choose the full FMF if I was running a CV carb, stock cams, or stock bore. This pipe merely allows the cammed big bore bikes with the FCR to breath properly.

Nice bike bobbed06!!
![]() I like the white rear fender and the front forks, looks brand new too. It was between the FULL yosh system, the FMF powercore 4 with the fmf powerbomb header, or the MRD pipe, seems that the MRD/SSW is said to be the best pipes for the drz, and Dave over at MRD is really nice to talk too, he answered my billion questions Ill post up some pics once i get it. As far as thumpertalk, lots of knowledable guys over there for sure, i had a problem with fuel leaking and my engine hydrolocking, they knew right away over there that it was the o-ring that sits on the valve seat in the carb, removed the old one, put in a new o-ring, and no more fuel leaks, i enjoy both forums, anything DRZ is interesting to me.

Sub mount opyion for GPR stabilizer?
I posted a while and got someinfo on stabilizers, thanks again. I have a question. Can I make my DRZ a sub mount using the GPR stabilizer and the stock tripple. I am running a 2" ROX riser so clearance wont be a problem. If you have a GPR on your DRZ please post back with a Pic if you have one.....John

That's a great looking bike, I love the look of the tank compared to the safari 17 ltr on my DRZ400E, which tank is that one.

They are a set of 46mm Kayabas from a 2003 RM 250. A fella had bought out a Suzuki dealer years ago and these were new and never used so I bought them from him. The triple clamps were also designed for that model of bike and required me to mill 3mm off of the top bearing preload nut. I also welded on a better steering stop because the stock DRZ stop is kinda cheaply done.
They use the stock DRZ/RM 250 neck bearings and of course required Trailtech and Baja Designs items to mount the Vapor Dash, and Headlight. The fork guards are from UFO and required the plastic guard guides to be bored out because UFO missed the mark on a properly fitting guide. ( They designed the guide to fit the 47mm Showas found on the RM 125) which mounted above the flange rather than around the flange like the 46mm Kayabas used. The brakes all bolt on, a Zeta gear canceller was used to replace speedo gear assy, Zeta brake line holder, and axle /wheel bolts up properly as is. Stock steer stop VS mine after mods. ![]()

I also had the machine shop rework the factory oil tank weld job because they were sloppy from the factory.
