You might look at seatconcepts.com . I think they might be more of a complete seat cover / foam set up, but hthey have been getting great reveiws from both Thumper Talk and ADVENTURE RIDER.

Just bought a new (to me) 1990 DR350 and have decided that I'd like to go through the bike while it's cold outside. The bike does run and everything works, but I don't know it's history and the carb at least seems like it could use a cleaning. If nothing else, I just to learn how it all works.
Plans include: -drain the old gas -change the oil -install a new spark plug -rebuild the carb -adjust the valves -maybe a new K&N air cleaner Can anyone suggest a service manual that will detail some of these procedures? |

I recommend less bashing and more reading on your part. This will not only will educate you, but may also realize a few folks around here know what they are talking about.

Don't use a K&N filter; they are just about the worst type of filter for off-road, because they don't filter out enough dirt. Maybe OK with a prefilter also, but still not as good as a foam/oil filter. It's pretty funny that you're telling us all we're going to blow up our bikes, then suggest a K&N filter. You probably shouldn't take your uncle's advice about bikes anymore.

Seats
On the seat upgrade issue, I highly recomend Cycle Solutions ( http://cyclesolutionsllc.com/ ). I had them do my X-Country and Lil BPO got her DR350 seat done. Outstanding product, comes back looking stock or near stock. They are the only guys doing seat upgrades that re-do every other aftermarket seat on a regular basis, Mayer, Renazco, Corbin, Sargent, all of them. When they did ours I asked if I could do a write up on them for the vendors forum:
http://www.advrider.com/forums/showt...ycle+solutions We are replacing her DR350 with a WR250R and she can't wait to have the seat done.

I installed a semi clear 4 gallon Clarke tank on mine. Gave me the added miles I needed over the stock tank, and I can look down at the tank and see whats left.

Where can I get an oil thermometer for my 1998 Suzuki DR 350 SE? Some thing like what Ludwig has on his page.
Here are the specs The DR350 thermometer has specs of 20 x 1,5 x 160. Looks like a 20mm thread with a 1.5 mm thread spacing or pitch, and 160 mm long? |

Somebody (xrsonly?) makes an oil temp gage for XR600's that replaces the stock dipstick, this might work for the DR350 too, since they are similar oil systems. Not sure if the threads are the same though.
For a fuel gauge, you could put a T fitting in your fuel line, and run an extra piece of clear line from that upwards along the front of the tank, up higher than the filler cap. You'd need a check valve and filter to keep dirt out and keep it from draining gas when you crash. This would let you see the fuel level in the clear hose, using it as a sight tube. Looking at the odometer is much easier. |
