I will be heading to Moab in June with the family in the new Jeep. Hope to take some easy trails. Suggestions?

Nope, that is the Launch Pad on Golden Spike and I made it up the first try. In the first pic (Escalator on Hells Revenge) I even rolled on to the rack back there. It mangled it a bit, but nothing to get upset about.

I actually made the rack and welded it together and have dragged or rolled on it numerous times. No dead coolers yet.

Hells Revenge looks tougher than it is, and there are a number of places to watch people look like idiots. I'd say you could do most of Gold Bar Rim as well. Those are the only 2 I can think of that have a good bit of challenge, but still doable in a stock machine that is not locked up. Sorry, I never did the easy trails...

Not much into "challenge" with the family, but some easy minor obstacles would be fun.

.
I have to admit that damage was the hardest thing for me to accept when I first started. I used to stare at my dents for hours and get upset about them.
The old timers call it acceptable damage.
I prefer to not damage and I've been fairly good at keeping it to a minimum.
But it's part of the game. It's gonna happen.

Yes it is a difficult balance. Now if that rack were the $350 Garvin one, I'd have been bummed. But since it was $32 in box steel and a $10 spool of wire for the welder, I'm not too upset. As for doors, quarter panels, fenders, etc... well, if you are gonna play with the big boys, it's pretty much a given.

Now if we decide to get a new $30k+ Rubicon at some point, yeah the first few dings will be a tough nugget to swallow. Kinda like the first few scuffs on the GS.

We had a bone stock rusted out CJ 7 on Goldbar rim at EJS as well as some stock rigs on Poison Spider Mesa. Don't let all the tricked out gear scare you away, we were doing all that stuff with open diffs years ago. I haven't been on Kane Creek in a while, but the nasty part of that trail is at the end and should be doable. There's a million miles of trails around Moab with great scenery and fun wheeling that don't have a cool name. After we work a couple of trails early in the week at EJS, we head way the hell out of town and explore out in the boonies and sometimes don't see another vehicle all day. If I could figure out how to post my gps stuff, I'd show you some cool places to go that won't bust your balls or Jeep. Feel free to PM me for some info if you want to.

Get some full-length corner guards, tube fenders, take the doors and windshield off...

The one time that we were there was in a relatively stock Grand Cherokee. Some locals took us on Fins and Things one day. Very nice trail that was interesting, but not all that hard on the vehicle. this was back in 2003, so things may have changed since then. Hooking up with somebody from the area is a very good idea.

A few of the guys from our Jeep Club are in Moab.

I'll post some pics when Bill loads em up. Here's one from today.

I think he picked the wrong line.

That's where I was and in the exact same position. I did have to get a tug to get out as the more I tried the more it just augured in.
