I think it's just to lock his tankpag -> security lock for zips http://www.polo-motorrad.de/en/siche..._from_store=de
the airbag system is usually mounted under the seat so that it isn't disturbing you while you're riding (now you've airbag systems without cable... take the bering for example http://www.bering.fr/index.php?act=actu_view&idnews=16)

The photo I was commenting on might not actually be showing the hit-air tether,
I was keying off of the "wing-nut" down close to where it appears to attach to the frame of the bike... but I could well be wrong

Here's what the tether looks like:

just the sewing machine. the material came from walmart at 1.50 a yard. no sewing required for the hammock but nice seams do dress it up a little. performs the same function sewed or not.

Holy crap, this should be named "how much junk can you pack on a bike?" Are we motorcycling or RV camping?

C'mon!! There's some genuine adventure in sticking to stupor slab on a 600lb touring bike, especially if you sometimes even use a 'tent'.

I might invest in bags at some point, but it's really nice to be able to have all of the weight on me with no added bulk to the bike. All of my gear (including 2 gallons of water) weighs in at just 40lbs and in transit the bike carries most of the weight. I don't worry about security as I just bring my stuff with me if I go anywhere, and I don't have a rack to bend when I crash.
Thats what im talking about!
when im in the market for a new bike i will be rolling like this man.
well done sir, i love it

We do nothing more (or less) than what each of us wants to do.

You do as you like, we all will as we like. To each his own.

What the hell does it change in your own life if someone prefers a blue bike VS a red one? Yamaha VS Suzuki? To ride 400 miles a day VS 800? To carry X amount of stuff on his bike VS what you do? To sleep in a motel room VS a hammock?

Geez...
