Loaded for Elk Season

Took the DRZ250 last year but plan to take the GS12 this year. Still trying to fine tune how to mount the rifle case on the GS.

Another adventure...
Enough supplies for two weeks out on the TAT.
I have zip lock bags in the ruck sacks with three changes of clothing..(Shirt, socks, and under-garment).
I wear the same pants both weeks.

Tent will be attached to ruck sack.

Gear was pretty basic. Tent, sleeping bag, chair, clothes, stove, extra water, extra fuel (MSR bottle), tools, riding gear, sandles, freeze dried food, book and portable satellite radio. Everything fit in a Seabag and the top box, secured with two ratchet straps. Future adventures, I'll invest in saddle bags. HOwever it worked well to sit on the sea bag on long bumpy dirt roads.

Real nice man. That's what I'm talking about. Simple, light and for 9 days. I gave up beer for a flask of tequila. I gotta simplify more.

Hey, Tman, thought about an AR-7? Small, but fun.

For what it is worth, here is my Big Pig in the Hiawatha National Forrest on the way to the MOA National in West Bend, WI. I use the Helen 2 Wheels bags with Rok Straps. The bungy net is for added safety and to hold my soft cooler.

Awright ... one weekend when I felt the need for a mental health weekend all by meself ... Saturday afternoon ... my current stead, a DR650, all loaded up with cheapie Rjays saddlebags (Oz$60), cheapie sorta sportsbag across the top, and a cheapie backpack on the Ventura rack on the back ...

... a year back ... her ladyship & me on a 5 week camping touring trip up & down the east coast of Oz ...

... her ladyship on a Suzi GS500 (which she still has) and me on a Suzi Weestrom DL650 (sold since then, excellent bike but didn't quite fit my persona, whatever that means) ...

... this pic just after a roo (kanga-) jumped into her at speed somewhere between 80-100kph (?~60-70mph?) ... she kept the bike upright ... what a woman! ...

... the important bits though ... Rjay's Explorer bag sorta sitting on her pillion seat (Oz$110) and DriRider saddlebags (Oz$190) ... Ventura rear rack ... no pannier rack ...

... Gearsack pannier bags on my DL650 ... cheapie olides from a workmate ... and a crummy sportsbag slung over the top ... again no pannier racks involved ...
