Fuel not Booze

Made the mistake on my initial setup when I bought a new fuel bottle of filling it with booze thinking that during the initial stages of my trip I wouldn't need it, unfortunately a late fuel truck in a town ruined that, making me look mighty silly when asking random folks whether they could sell me some fuel and getting asked if I'd used my reserve bottle yet!

For camping I carry all my water in my camelbak, generally have 3 lots of rations for dinner and breakfast (always basing my planning on a bought lunch) and when possible buy some fruit and beer at the end of the day before reaching our campsite. Cook and eat out of the billy or travel mug, makes for some good tasting tea.
I spoil myself with a tent with an annex for a couple of reasons, which vary from smelly feet to animal control. I want my boots outside where they don’t gas me, but stay dry and I want my food safe from random docile animals but don’t want the tent to be ripped open by the more aggressive ones like wild pigs, the annex can be sacrificed though.

On a side note like phunmusicianphan has done I'm a big fan of indicating where my first aid kit is, because I know I'll get it wrong if I'm flustered and it's nice for someone to know it's there if I need to have it used on me.

Here is my set up for warm weather remote camping with 2 days of food & gear. I top off the camel back at every fuel stop.

Camping trip 7/19

Packed up

Set up at camp

The only thing I will change is to get a Kelty 12'x12' tarp with 2 poles to provide a better covered area in the rain. I got hit with a 3 hour down pour Friday night.

After a little better packing at camp I figured out I could have made it without the wolfman duffel but I always like some extra capacity in case I buy anything along the way, or need to shed some gear for a while.

Which size Wolfman is that? I'm considering the large duffel.

I'm pretty sure that is a medium expedition. They are pricey but worth every penny.

Very nice. Comfortable but not burdensome in the weight category.

What is the make/model on those lanterns?

If you were just going to get one of the two which would it be? I like the size of the orbit but the apollo is twice as bright... (according to the spec sheets anyway).

Def the bigger one, it puts out enough light to set up camp, cook by etc, or it can be dimmed and used for a tent light and will burn all night for a week on low with one set of batteries. It packs down slightly smaller than a beer can.

Do you have any pictures with the rain fly on? I just saw that they also have a 2 man version (UCG 2) for about the same price that also has 11" poles.
