Billings Montana to Big Pryor Mountain
Did a ride from Billings, MT to Big Pryor Mountain in Custer National Forest. There's miles of jeep trails in the valley and on the mountain. I took the scenic route out of Billings down to Edgar which was fantasic! Some of the trails on Big Pryor are pretty tough, so make sure that you're wearing knobbies. I didn't make it all the way to the top. I got stuck in a mosquito breeding mud hole and had to hike off the mountain and get the rancher to pull me out with his jeep. I marked off some dead ends and the mud bog that took me out.

pryor mountains
I'm new to this posting thing but I'd have to agree there are many great forest service roads up in this area. I've enjoyed exploring around this area using the gps to find many of the ice caves riddling the area.
Its a great ride to continue on past big pryor mountain to east pryor mountain and then on down to lovell, wy.. |
