Flux - Big Adventure THREE - North Georgia

Well the Big Adventure THREE is still going strong, but I had to bug out and miss the camping and Sunday ride, but I took lot's of pics of the Saturday ride, so I thought I'd get busy uploading and start a ride report. There were lot's of cameras and lot's of pictures, but I'll start it off with mine.

(Ride report and pics dedicated to Willy-B since he was not there I tried to take lot's of pics!)

We gathered together at the super secret meeting spot and got a bit of a late start, but I believe there were 19 bikes that blasted off about 9:00 Saturday morning. Here's some pics of the pre-ride gathering...

Section 2 that used to be section 1 provided the first skill test and only good hydro-x-ing of the day...

After the water crossing we took the first break to rest a bit and have some fellowship...

Next we made our way over to some power lines and the second skill test. The hill was optional and some (I'm not naming names!) riders elected to stay at the top and watch the really gonzo crazy riders ride down the steep hill (pics don't do it justice) just to turn around and ride back up it. everyone made it up with one slip-up and good save by the Pit-B...

Doesn't look so bad from the bottom...

or from the top! but it was a pretty nice hill!

Next was Whissenhunt ORV Park, well I think all these were from Wissenhunt! Wissenhunt provided lot's of the three Rs (Rocks, Roots, and Ruts) and BIG gnarly HILLS!

I think this was the hill they call the Last Man Standing! and it did take down a few good men...

Time to take a nice long break after the nice-n-gnarly trails at Whissenhunt...

After Wissenhunt we slabbed it over to Dales, well we almost made it to Dales, but had to stop and change the only flat tire of the day. There is some speculation that the valve stem was ripped by an awesome supermoto turn on the slab. I didn't see it, but the report was that it was REALLY sick!

Next we headed up Canada Creek for some more of the Three Rs, a BIG log, with a ramp made by Hobbits, and a NICE overlook, and a SICK rocky downhill back to the slab...

Just a short ride on the slab brought us to the little tent village set up at TWO. Time for some different 3Rs, resting, relaxing, and recuperating! followed by a dip in the pool, a nice meal, and some time to tell tall tales...

I had to call it a day, so I mounted up and headed down the mountain from Suches to Dahlonega and on to Dawsonville.

The End!

Great pics GaThumper,
Looks like the Sand Fleas are holding up pretty good in the hills & hard pack.
You gotta love the pic of Kuntz on the ground. Hey PK I see you broke in the DRZ with that shattered rear turn signal. Looks like awsome riding area, sorry I couldn't make it. You all have a great ride and safe trip back to FL.

The Fleas from flatland were doing great!

It's just like riding in Florida... except for the rocks, roots, ruts, and hills.

As for the directional, he had some help breaking it when an orange swamp man appeared out of no-where and fell on top of him... honestly!

My favorite quote of the day... from Kuntz, just before the first time he and the DRZ were "resting" on the ground...

"If you can ride on sand, you can ride on anything!"

I won't speak for anyone else, but from the looks on all the faces everyopne had a fantastic time.

Great meeting everyone and awesome riding! Flux, thanks again for putting it on and I'm glad I can say I came away unscathed this time. My only fall for the weekend was on that 1st section when I went bushwacking in the thick brush!

It was sure hot, but it was still fun!

I made it back ok...the last ones to complete everything were me, Lucky, Coates, Kenny, Gert, Beef Jerky, Willy B, and "Kentucky" Banjo. We got back around 6 or so.

Beef Jerky called while we were at Sushi with the inlaws...he had bike issues on 400...stranded luck would have it No Mystery happenned to ride by with Mike in Atlanta and saved him. Many thanks to Michelle and Mike as my truck actually broke down Friday and I felt so helpless not being able to help my bud. He should be getting back home about now.

Great pics, Thumper. I had a great time and am sure I will get my pics up tomorrow sometime. I reckon Willy B will get around to it tonight though!

Thumb Wow, awsome looking ride.

Thanks for the pics, GaThumper.
The coolest looking part was that SICK rocky downhill after the tree crossing.
Congrats to the Flux also.

Yeah, I am still awake. Made it home about 11:30PM, the other fleas had an hour or two to go. Hopefully they are all home by now.

Many thanks to everyone, especially to Flux and Jen for putting so much work into this. I will post up some pics tomorrow.

Made it home at 1 a.m., fell into bed unconscious and dreamed about rocks and ruts and hills and sharp turns. Great time, Flux. Thanks for the hospitality. When's FBAIV?

Special thanks to NoMystery, MikeinAtlanta, and Todd. If it wasn't for them, I'd still be on the side of 400 kicking my bike over and cussin'. Let me know if you ever need anything!

Just for the record, about 200 bikes buzzed right on past me. Only 1 other person stopped and they were on a 1200 GS. I WAS able to get 1 or 2 Harley guys to wave back at me as I was on the side of the road screaming and waving my arms.

I had a hell of a time. It was great to see some new faces, as well as shoot the bull with some old ones.

I will post up a bike/gear/body damage report as soon as I figure it out.
