Hey Ned,
I'm just wondering how long the DVD is? It's probably listed somewhere, but I didn't see it.

The total length is about 50 minutes. The main portion, which includes 9 chapters on riding techniques, including drills and examples, is about 30 minutes. I was amazed at how much information fits in that time- we cover significantly more those sections than I do in my clinics which take all day! There is also a garage portion, which includes a tire change, suspension setup, and an overview of setup and preparing for trailside repairs. And finally, we also threw on a little gratuitous riding, just for the joy of it.

Updates:
* To avoid unnecessary delay, I'm shipping T-shirts and DVD's separately for orders that have been placed before the DVD is in stock. Hayduke is doing the shirts, and I believe all domestic orders placed before this weekend have shipped- we'll keep moving forward from there, once he's back from Westfest. Once I get DVD's to Hayduke's shop, all orders that have both a T-shirt and a DVD will ship direct from him, in a single envelope. But I didn't want orders to wait on one more shipping hop, so I decided to pick up the cost of sending 2 shipments to early customers. For foreign orders that included a T-shirt, I'm sending them together in one package because shipping was prohibitive for sending 2 packages. The T-shirts will come to Westfest, and I'll get them sent ASAP thereafter. * The DVD is finished at the duplicators and should ship to me tomorrow. I'm knee deep in stamped and addressed mailers, so that the minute they arrive, we can just slide them into the envelope and they'll be on their way to you all without further delay. Exciting stuff! * I sent out a very few burned (not duplicated) copies of the DVD to folks who helped me with clinics in the past. So, those of you dying for a review should get one here before too long. * I'm providing a few T-shirts and pre-release copies of the DVD to Westfest as door prizes. These will be the first ones to hit the street...

I had the opportunity to view a pre-release copy of the DVD and all I can say is, Impressive, Informative and Professional. I consider myself a pretty good rider and after watching this DVD, I came away with a few riding tips that I had forgot, and will practice again very soon. If you have ever been to one of Ned's classes, this is the next best thing..
Advance Warning: don't watch at night, it will make you want to ride and practice these skills ASAP.. best to do so when it's daylight.. I will order this for Christmas for my friends kids who are now just learning the true meaning of dual-sport riding!

Your a talented man, good on you for hiring professionals, it shows in the finished product. Doing a project like this takes much more effort than people realize.

Checking in...
Ok, I admit it, I've been a lurker now on the ADV site for over 2 years, so this is a big step out for me... but what better occasion than this to poke my head out and say "Hi!"
It was a real pleasure working with Ned and crew on this project and it's fufilling to be at this point - shipping any day now!! ![]() Like many of you here, I appreciate this site for the sense of community it instills and the massive amount of tips and tricks it provides. To be able to give back to the community something of value is a real treat! So thanks to all of you inmates for your inspiration and advice! SpringOly Dual Sport Riding Techniques: The DVD! |

So, you lucky SOB's with the pre-release version:
Where's your frickin' review already?! The rest of us slobs don't have anything else to do but watch crummy YouTube videos until we get our very own instruction. Whaddya waitin' for? My pre-review is already formatted, only waiting for final visual confirmation of my high expectations to be radically fulfilled. ...drums fingers...

Fantastic - exactly what I have been looking for. I am looking forward to my DVD and to getting an Adventure bike next year - I tend to do alot of homework before trying anything so this will fit the bill perfectly. I have a street bike but definitely need to learn as much as possible about gentle off-roading on bikes like the KTM 950/990 etc.
Take care - Wolfhound |
