That's exactly what I was hoping for. She is growing up way too fast.

Testing the tank bag

...although an older pic, it still communicates the need for testing the gear prior the first use.

and more gear tested the better

...so the helmet is a logical choice.

My then 6 year old getting ready to go riding with Dad on the cruiser.

My wife also rides, and both us and the kids are ATGATT. Expensive to keep getting new gear from England every time they grow, but what the heck, it is part of having kids right?

As the two youngest are twins, it is ALWAYS a fight for who rides with Mom on her cruiser and who rides with Dad on this. My little ninja on my little ninja made me laugh so I just had to snap a photo of it. I was working on my truck, and noticed him in the mirror sneaking up on me. So I had the bike out and sat him on it to grab the photo. Really, he does have proper gear, but was not wearing it for the photos, just his Ninja outfit.

vrooom!

My spirited 3 y/o. I doubt she'll tolerate riding on the back very long.

Its funny... I read this thread last year when my wife and I were talking about having kids. I had no idea what I would do if we had a girl but I got a little choked up reading through it and it gave me hope. Well now here we are and my little girl is due in October.
When we found out the sex my wife said I looked like I was going to cry. I just figured I would be able to relate better to a boy. However, here I am back in this thread and I have renewed hope. I guess that is the mystery of life. Maybe my girl will love bikes, maybe I would have had a boy that wants to take ballet lessons. You cant control it I guess.

I did tell my wife, "I hope she likes handguns and dirtbikes." I'm thinking the conversation will go something like this. "Daddy I want a pony!." "No you get a dirtbike."

That's exactly how it goes at my place. I grew up with ponies and other 4-legged creatures. A dirt bike can be washed, put up and not bothered with, until it's time to play.

You never know quite what you'll get, but to me thats part of the thrill. Show em how awesome your interests are, and let them work out how they will fit that in to their inherent interests...and get ready to be suprised. My 5yo grrrl and 19mo dude are amazing critters in ways i would not have predicted based on gender, etc.

And tell em how frickin' awesome they are whnev you can- you'll be glad you did.

A big CONGRATS on the baby girl, I brought up 4 girls, they all rode bikes and sleds since they could hang on to the bars, youngest (charlee Rae) raced Karts for years.(the most fun I have ever had) they do grow up to fast but so far they have blessed me with 1 granddaughter and 2 grandsons.

Don't worry. Having a daughter will produce more joy in your life than anything else you have ever experienced. She will change you and your outlook on everything, and it's all for the better. Congratulations, you are about to receive a true life improving bundle of joy.
