Thanks everyone
I am steadily working my way through this thread. I am living in Australia and a few months ago my wife broke her vows and moved back to South Africa, with our 1 year old daughter Jessica. I was thinking when, and how much, I will be able to see my daughter and spend time with her in the future, but seeing this thread and reading some of the other father's stories have given me new hope. Her mother has no desire to return to Aus one day. Hopefully Jess will find her way here someday and go riding with her dad. Keep up the good work guys. You never know what you have untill you loose it.

  My 8 year old on our way for ice cream. We get to the sugar filled establishment and she asks me "When can I get a motorcycle!?" My mind raced for an answer besides NEVER, especially after we just passed 5 teenage boys on sport bikes, NEVER... my reply "Oh, we shall see, we shall see young one" in my best Yoda voice. Mom is the photographer.

You have captured the dilemna...
I want my kids to experience and share the joy of things i find cool...
I want my kids to avoid being injured in the commision of being the squid that i am/was... Aw fuggit: they will what they will and my job is to keep them safe and happy in the meantime

 Here is my daughter at her first trip to the motorcycle park, she pretty much just slept in the back of my wife's suv the whole time. She'll be 8 weeks old tomorrow, gotta get her started right though. |

Hey PrStone50 you can't say never. You need to come up with a better answer than this. Cuz you would hate yourself for not sharing the love of motorcycles with your daughter. Motorcycles and daughters and dads = lifetime and unique bonding.
