And at 11 years old my daughter was emphatically NOT going to have anything to do with boys. Guess how that went?

If it comes to it, my daughter would (hopefully) be saying:
"You'll need to get me a full-face helmet and jacket and gloves and boots, etc. before I get on that thing. ...and you'd better check your tire pressures. How much training have you had? ...Tell you what, I'll drive and YOU get on the back."

I guess I never put it that way to her but maybe I should. I will come up with a strategy as she is beginning her sophomore year at Boston College for time when she comes home. The truth is I wish I could take her riding in the Northeast when she had a couple of days off. Thank you very much for your suggestion and your personal experience

I am happy to report that my sophomore daughter at Boston College who is on the crew team and is on the Charles River at 6:15 AM 5 to 6 days a week and gets great grades still has no boyfriend. She rowed in high school but is too small to do so in a Division I school so she is the coxswain of the boys varsity team. The good news is the eight strongest men on campus watch after her as if she were their little sister on pretty sure every other guy would be afraid to ask her out. She doesn't look like me or she never get a date so I will insert a picture below to prove that point

taken a couple of days before she left for school:

this picture was taken at the end of the year banquet last May. This was just before the team went to the national championships at Lake Lanier outside of Atlanta the same water where the Olympics took place in 1996. Their boat came in sixth in the nation.

A picture from that race. They weren't happy with the amount of spray but there were a lot of waves and it was a very windy day:

just one more show my little girl's attitude because this is the way she'd really like to see her. I raced her to be a strong woman who doesn't take any crap from anybody

Congrats on your daughter's success!

Here's a "daughters with attitude repost," but I think she's graced the Aerostich cover three times. . ..

thank you for your kind words. Great picture of your daughter is very exciting that she's been on the front of the catalog of one of my favorite manufacturers of all time... three times no less. That's awesome

Early training :)

Note the little hand with a 13mm socket!

She's in training.... 20 months old and is Daddy's little helper!

(Hey, if you can't maintain it, you can't ride/drive it, right?!)

Here's some saddle time:

When she sees the bike out, or any motorcycle for that matter, she yells, Daddy "Cycle!!!" (in her own words)

This is my oldest girl with her new to her toy . Her first race on it is this weekend .

I think she likes being at the track more than her brother did .
I can't believe how she has improved from the days on her 65 .......................

I kinda did the opposite of LeftCoastMan. I was working and going to college at night when my first daughter was born. I quit school after earning my second associate degree because I absolutely could not stand to be away from her. I kept a relatively low paying job in our small town so I could be there to take my girls to school, sports, events, etc. I could have easily doubled my salary by taking a job that required travel or relocation. I raced motorcycles the whole time but I almost always took my girls with me. The oldest even raced too for eight years.

Anyway, it all got screwed up when their mother divorced me when our youngest was nine. She took them away and moved them back to her home town. Now, I'm still in an average paying job and my lack of a B.S. is causing me difficulty in advancing and the only travel I want to do is via motorcycle. So it goes...

My sixteen year-old, squatting. My twenty-two year-old, in the wedding dress, April, 2013.
