I kinda did the opposite of LeftCoastMan. I was working and going to college at night when my first daughter was born. I quit school after earning my second associate degree because I absolutely could not stand to be away from her. I kept a relatively low paying job in our small town so I could be there to take my girls to school, sports, events, etc. I could have easily doubled my salary by taking a job that required travel or relocation. I raced motorcycles the whole time but I almost always took my girls with me. The oldest even raced too for eight years.

Anyway, it all got screwed up when their mother divorced me when our youngest was nine. She took them away and moved them back to her home town. Now, I'm still in an average paying job and my lack of a B.S. is causing me difficulty in advancing and the only travel I want to do is via motorcycle. So it goes...

My sixteen year-old, squatting. My twenty-two year-old, in the wedding dress, April, 2013.

( I don't remember if I shared these earlier or not)

One of the areas we ride hosts a spring trail ride and blind enduro. (most consistent lap times) This year was my youngest first time riding the event. They had a kids course set up that snakes around a grass field. We were parked near the course, so we just let her ride. She must have done over a hundred laps...
At the time she had a TTR-50 and was keeping with the pace the bigger kids were setting.

There was one boy she just couldn't stay ahead of...

We let her take out her sister's KLX 110...

She took to it like a fish to water... a few more cc's was all she needed after a lap or two he was trying to keep up with her.

At the end of the day she left with the first place Kids Class Trophy

Now she wants to try Hare Scrambles...
Might have to try VCHSS race before the season ends...

Sure thing. A ride a few weeks back at Medicine Lake, Alberta. One of the few this year due to work and one of the few that the wife made it on too, so was an awesome day.

Son's last ride on his PW before we moved to his TTR50. He wanted a bike that shifted gears like his big sister.

Thank you so much for filling in some of the details about that picture. That's an image that's going to give you great memories for a lifetime. I'm glad that both of the kids are writing and I appreciate you sharing this with us.

Ahem... This is my daughter, she's ridden with me on all my bikes. I don't have any with me showing us ON a bike, maybe later when I return to the U.S. . A Combat Medic, she's totally BA to hear her tell it, lol.

A picture from that race. They weren't happy with the amount of spray but there were a lot of waves and it was a very windy day:

just one more show my little girl's attitude because this is the way she'd really like to see her. I raced her to be a strong woman who doesn't take any crap from anybody

Great pics and story - rowing is an awesome sport.

You must be very proud!

My 16 year old heading off to school last week. She got her street license recently and has been trail riding since she was 8. I picked up this 1977 Kawasaki KZ400 Deluxe for her
