I'm new in this father - daughter thing.
Still learning the ways, still adapting to the (almost) no free time policy.

She is my biker girl, Maria Kalina :)

Awwww she's beautiful....

Just so you know this is the tomboy awareness thread. Most of us here seem to have no intent of letting their daughters miss out on all the fun!

The time thing... Just remember that your free time will never be as valuable as time with your daughter. It does get better. Slower than you want, but fast enough to scare you looking back a year at what you survived.

Mines coming up on two now and instead of playing on her own, she will grab your finger, drag you over and pull you to the ground to watch what she is doing. If you aren't paying attention she will grab your chin and spin your head around. She wants to do everything, from cooking to dressing to cleaning. To much fun now.... Still can't get a thing done, but that's the way it is....

Absolutely RIGHT ON, Cataract2! Any man can become a "Daddy;" however, it takes a REAL man to become a "Father." When we take the time to share with our children our love of motorcycles and riding...and take them for their first ride...we are "fathering" them, nurturing them to grow in strength, intelligence and confidence. And children absolutely flourish in that kind of environment.

And before you know it, she's 10, a flower girl in a wedding, and when you look at her picture from that wedding, you're thinking, "Where did the time go"?

Then you realize that YOU are the identity of a man to her, make it a positive one.

Start saving for a hack, you can take them along very early and they love it!
My youngest is five years old now and addicted to motorcycles and hacks.

There is an awful lot of soft touches in the hard a*se community bonny wee thing Capone, when mine was that wee I used to put her in a papoose to do work on the bike,( or anything else) I convinced myself that she would take it all in if I talked her through whatever it was I was doing.

thanks for your kind words
daughters are EVERYTHING

here's mine... now a sophomore in college... in Boston... very far away
i'm so proud of her, but continue to miss her every day:

how she'd rather be seen
as the coxswain of the Men's Varsity 8 at Boston College... at the recent HEAD OF THE CHARLES Regatta:

Monday, the youngest's school hosted a Dudes & Doughnuts day. She wanted to know that since I would be taking her to school, could we take the bike?

37 degrees out but she still wanted to go...(good thing the school is only about 5 minutes away)

I made sure we parked where the school buses could see her
