I spent a week riding in New Zealand with my 11yo daughter earlier this year. We had a great time touring the South Island together...

Geez guys, I have some serious jealousy going on here. Things never worked out for me as far as wives and having children is concerned and times like this I wish I had a little one to take riding with me. Man it'll just about choke me up. Ya'll cherish what you have, it's wonderful I tell ya. Not everyone gets to be blessed with such things. I'm not bitter, just in awe.

can't wait...
You all are killing me...I'm at work trying to hold back tears!
I've got a 10 month old at home and she knows my bike since I park it just outside her window and she sees me coming home from work at lunchtime (just to see her) and the end of the day. I'm really looking forward to taking her out someday. My dad took me out when I was kid around the suburb...hooked me for life. I've tried to attach a pic of Gracie...let's see if it works. Sorry if it's huge or doesn't post. Cheers to all you Dad's out there!! |

My wife and I are unable to have chitlins of our own, but my wife has three older brothers all with scads of children (18 total) Only two so far have shown any interest in us or our bikes. David whom we sent through and MSF class when he turned 18 and Amber (14) who was an Olympic hopeful for gymnastics until she crushed some vertebra in her back a year ago. She spent a week with us a while back and really liked the SV race-bike and said she wants to learn to ride.

Great Thread
As a divorced Dad of 2 daughters, 12 & 17, with 50/50 custody I totally relate to this thread. My 12 y.o. has been bugging me for some time to take her on an overnight trip on the bike, but I have been putting it off because I have been "too busy". The longest she has ridden so far is about 2 hours, so I am a little worried about whether she will like a longer ride. This thread has convinced me that I need to stop being too busy and get off my ass and take her riding!
