Get them through childhood and and then.....

Called her after the race on Saturday and she was OK. Sunday late PM I get the call from the ER nurse.

Trying to jump higher than the boys. Up fine...down not so good. 5 weeks, two broken wrists, three surgeries later she's smiling more than below.

When is this parent thing over? Just got back from lunch and shopping with her, as she still can't drive. She's happy because her throttle hand works best and can't wait to get back on the bike.

She's had great support from her friends and riding buddies. She really needed it the fisrt few weeks.

Annual Father/Daughter Long Ride

Here's my daughter, Kyle Kate and I ferrying across Champlain a couple weeks ago. At age 23, she's been riding with me since she was 7. At age 13 we began the annual Father/Daughter Long Rides, usually 2 to 3 weeks and 3,500 to 5,000 miles. BRP a few times, Ohio's Serpent Mound, the Outer Banks, the American Shakespeare Center in Staunton VA, a couple of Cape Breton runs, Chicago Blues Festival, etc. etc.

The girl seems to have inherited my wanderlust...She's off to Spain next week for language school. In my view, her moto experience has had a very positive impact in so many aspects of her growth: tolerance, a sense of competence in any situation encountered, problem-solving skills, the list goes on.

I'm blessed that at age 60 she still wants to spend dedicated time with her dad.

I have posted in here previously, My daughter has moved on with her life and has no time for Dad anymore. I am ok with that now.
My sister has 5 kids, one is 23 yrs old with special needs, and one is 6. Her hubby turned into a holy roller and has little time for them.
The 4th one seems to have the adventure gene. I take her out on my quad, let her ride on the back of the dirt bikes, and the street bikes.
This past weekend I borrowed my buddys sons little CR75 and decided it was time to learn her to use a clutch and see if she could get it. Silly question, of course she can. This weekend we will go for a few trails and see how it goes.
It was great fun until the end of the day. Once she ran over and gave me a big hug and smiled the whole way home, well, I just melted.

what a great place to trade gear... for our daughters... i can't find anything for my girl but a helmet.. i got her a new one of those, and it will go to anyone that needs it when it gets too small.. but the rest.. boots, coat, pants are hard to find even new.. anyone have a daughter that has grown outta their clothes? i swear on my "daddy heart" that it will all be passed on when she grows out
