Been on a quad with my Daughter since she was 3 She is now almost 6

This Entire thread makes me smile almost as much as spending a day riding with the kid! Here is one taken on Tuesday afternoon. She is in Kindergarden and gets her afternoons off so we went for a 4 hour ride. The weather was unusually warm (+2C) for Feb so we had a great day! This year she will start on my motorcycle. I can't wait!

Kid's Clothing

Last year my twin 9 year olds showed an interest in riding. I felt kind of bad because I did'nt have any good protective gear for them. I could't find much besides a few jackets made for kids. I ended up ordering a 1 piece suit from babybiker in the UK. I figured I would post here in case anyone else was having trouble finding gear for their daughters.

I have an 8 year old that has expressed interest in riding with me. I haven't made up my wind to take her but I really like the idea of going on some moto camping trips together. What did that one piece suit cost? Was it easy to get the correct size? I suspect returning something to England isn't a cost effective option. Do you think it is sturdy enough for protection from road rash?

it came to around $180 US dollars including shipping. It was actually easy to get the correct size because they ask for 4 or 5 different measurements so they get it right. The suit in the picture is called an extenda ..It has zippers on the sleaves and legs that when unzipped add an aditional inch or 2 thus allowing longer use by growing kids. It seems well made with a soft type armor in the back elbows and knees. In the event of a road rash situation it will be MANY times safer than blue jeans they were wearing. The only downside is there is no venting.

I posted the pix of our babybiker gear, I think its the same as yours though...the name of the site is not indicative of their limitations, size-wise.

It fills a sizing niche below normal XS ladies sizes. As well, it's sporting CE armor and nylon on par with any of my own abrasion protection.

Feedback is I'd go for the 2 piece garment instead of the 1. The 1 piece has room for arms and legs to grow BUT as their torso gets longer there's no adjustment and the garment ends up contricting at the shoulders and crotch.

To all the dad's that have got there daughters on the back of thier bike, I envy you.

Mine is now 23, and I can only remember her geting on the back of my bike once, looking at the pictures here makes me wish I had pushed harder to get my kids on the back of my bike.

I take my hat off to you all.

I need to get my grrrl out on the bike for pics: she's almost 4 and is making 'I wanna ride!' noises.
