It can't be that long a story, you ran the KTM out of fuel. Right?? Right?? That's the only posible explanation, unless of course you borrowed someone elses bike, then who knows...

Andrew, It actually is a long story as you will soon see. The 525 was not the problem, it was fine except for a dead battery. Even after I ditched it off the trail and it landed upside down, it started and ran when I finally got it back on the trail.

Perry, do you need your money back sooner than later so you can buy a Spot device now?
Thanks again for the emergency loan when I lost everything. How and when do you want the funds back?

Michael, when can I get your gear back to you? I can meet you or leave the gear at one of my stations. I will have it with me starting tomorrow.

That's funny Josh, if I'd had a spot this past Monday I could have saved alot of people a lot of trouble, not to mention the costs of a full scale SAR. Helicopter, jeeps, quads and lots of people on the ground. I was blown away by the scale of the search effort. Spot and or SAT phone are on the list of survival / communication items needed for safe backcountry travel.

Remember Gilligan's Island? It was only gonna be a three hour ride...
You just never know when you'll need it.

Fortunately the Fresno county Sheriffs don't charge for search and rescue op's.
They are a bunch of great people. It's nice to know that are always ready to go!
In my case it turned out that I didn't need them, but it would have been a different story if I had been injured or lost or unable to hike out.
Thanks again to everyone,

Perry

PS. Still workin on the full story.........

Glad you got your bike out Perry and all is well.

Words can't describe my race. We dominated, didn't win or even place. But we should have won. We were hands down the fastest amateur team out there, by far. just plagued with issues.
