Many. I'm still looking for ones with the bags off so you can see the mounts.

Note that I have the horrendously huge and ugly top-loader cases.

So, any recommendations on an online vendor that handles service items for this bike? Stuff like oil and air filters, spare key blank, just the basics.

You can get oil and air filters on ebay, Tom. Oil filter is the same as the current XR650L if I remember correctly.

The oil filter is standard through lots of the Honda singles, HF112 is one code for the filter.
Keyblanks are standard as well.
Airfilters are unique to the NX650, I bought a BMC filter that works well. although K&N make one as well, and I have seen people make foam ones out of foam filter sheet wrapped around the steel inner gauze.

Thanks, guys. Any suggestions on a tank bag? Also thinking on using the Ortlieb Dry Bags, if I can rig a rack to keep them off the hot exhausts. Anyone try these?

Wolfman Expedition Dry Saddlebags for the NX?

Another option might be this:

Wolfman Expedition Dry Saddlebags

Wolfman Side Racks

Aerostich lists the side rack for the Honda XL650L only. Work on the NX??? Or make up my own rack

Starting problem

Just today noticed a starting problem. Hit the starter button, hear a click under the seat and no power anywhere. Wait a few minutes and power comes back on and it starts normally. Happened twice today when Dominator was cold. Any ideas?

Check if light and horn works with ignition ON.

Check battery connections. Also, look below the carb: there's a wire connected to the starter motor. Big one, with a rubber boot covering the connection. Remove the rubber boot (DON'T PRESS STARTER WHILE AT IT) and check for rust and/or proper connection. Clean and tighten if necessary. Do the same with the battery connectors.

If no issues then try to wire the starter (the connection under the carb that I told you about) directly to the battery +12. Use a thick wire and MAKE SURE BIKE IS IN NEUTRAL. If it turns the slightest, it's the starter relay. If it doesn't, it's likely the starter motor itself. You'll have to clean it, perhaps replace some innards (innards that you can buy for about $5 at your local hardware store).

Its been quiet on here. Any one seen this custom nx650 http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Bikee...m_medium=email I quite like it. My 1999 nx650 is in need of some attention in cosmetics. This has given me a few ideas.

I love those wheels with TKC's on them (it's TKC, right? ). Rear light and overall 'clean' look.
But does anyone ride them on the street as normal commuter? I'm worried about so small lights and blinkers..

Awesome

I love it to! Wish I could put the rear wheel and disc brake set-up on my 88 Domi. Going to try and put a CR 500 front suspension ( USD ), wheel and brake on mine over the winter months. Had a 88 XR 250 R front end on it but it is to soft and not much in the brake department.
