I use africa twin shock with shortened stroke.

Are you using the NX spring on the AT shock?

Does the AT shock have adjustable compression? rebound? remote reservior?

Thanks

At shock has remote reservoir and adjustable compression. Yes, nx spring in AT shock. AT original spring is about 10kg/mm. I added schrader valve to AT shock and it is serviceable.

New to me NX650

I bought an '88 NX650 a little over a month ago. The bike needed a little TLC but seemed solid. When I got it, it looked like this

I ended up repairing a lot of the plastics - repairing the mounting tabs and cracks. Next on the agenda was to replace all the old rusted bolts with new stainless hardware. Ever bolt that I took out got replaced with a new one.
I was not very happy with the stock headlight, and on my first trip into the woods, a tree took care of that problem. So instead of finding a stock replacement I decided to convert to a dual headlight setup. I bought 2 Trail Tech HID SCMR16 lights. They only pull 30 watts each but output 100 watt halogen equivalent. I bought 1 flood and 1 spot. I modified the stock headlight mount and made a bezel from sheet metal.

After I welded the bezel together, I coated it with Truck Bed liner coating. I wired the flood light to the stock low beam and the spot to the high beam switch. They are really really bright, I have them pointed down and have not had an issue with cars flashing me as of yet. With both of them on - the visibility at night is really really good. One down side of the HID setup is that they are not instant on - they take a few seconds to fully come on.
Next was to raise the front fender. I started off mounting the stock fender higher, but decided that what I really needed was a flat top fender that I could mount to the bottom of triple trees. I found a blue dirt fender at Cycle Gear that I cut down.

Nice setup, Mark. I like the high fender on this bike and it's such an easy mod to do.

I've finally fitted almost all the pegaso fairings onto the NX...except that the front low fender was from XRV750...with some added decals, the bike is hoping not to be mistaken for a pegaso...
the sideboards and tail just needed minimal mods...

what you guys think?
for the better or worst?
