Any Honda Dominator NX650 owners out there ?

hello domi fans.i have a 1995 RD08 (Italian model) for 4 and a half years.i intalled XR600 pipes(headers) and supertrapp universal quiet series muffler.the bike runs great in the middle revs but when it is in the minimum(or little higher) it's turn off.in high revs it's sound like knocking.my mechanic cleaned the carb which is in good shape.he said the problem must be the CDI.any ideas?

I think you should adjust your carb, not just clean it, after you have modified the exhaust.
Try bigger main jet.
If you have RD08, your main jet is probably 148 or even 145. I'd suggest you to try 155 main jet. This will influence greatly on your machine

Also check that the "accelerator pump" on the carb is working, sometimes they seize causing problems at low revs.
They area beside the throttle on the carb, looks like a cam arm.

It sounds like jetting to me to be honest.

The tank came with the bike in 2001, courtesy of the previous owner.

today i put on another CDI but the problem remains.next days i will go for another jetting.thanks for advice

Upside down forks are from which bike? Are they any better?

Hi guys! Im new here. Great forum ! I have a dommie -92. It is low on power and might be missing ingnintion on high revs. Low revs it runs great. 20000km on it. Any ideas?

Have you checked the spark plug cable?
That can wear a little and it's a really annoying problem, just cut a little bit of it and put the cap again and try.. Also try with a new plug... And check spark with a new plug and the old one..

Just to see if it's an electricity problem, without disarming so much..

The forks are 43mm WP from '00 KTM EXC 300 shorter by 30mm, by 295mm in 265mm . their difference with the oem is huge especially on dirt roads.among others are adjustable in compression and rebound damping

I would be looking at replacing in order of cheapness, ht lead, spark plug, plug cap, coil then ecu if none of the others fix it.

Also try cleaning the carb, instead of buying an ecu just incase it's dirty.
