I have had a bunch of Gas Gas Pros (I ride, my son, my daughter and my nephew) and I don't know what these reliabilty issues are.
A few of the first year Pros had shifting problems.
Get what you want but GasGas sells more bikes than all the other makes.....
combined.
Oh, do yourself a favor and get a slow-turn throttle tube (the black one) it will soften up the power delivery as you're learning.

$3k for that would be a good price methinks. Doesn;t have that 'thrown out of a truck at 50mph onto the highway repeatedly look to it'.

The seat for the 315's is very hard to come by the last I checked. You can order them out of Europe from http://www.scottishtrial.com/. The seats for the 4RT's are much easier to come by onshore.

Even if you did buy or fab up something to sit on I think the seat to pegs would be too short (those trialsin Euro's are tiny!) and quite often it'd be in the way when you need the clearance between the bike and your beans&frank.

Regardless, I've been thinking of doing one up when I have some time... thinking CRF50 seat or a DH mountainbike seat on some sort of bolt on rail system.... Aaack, I'd rather just ride.

That isn't the one I am talking to a guy about, but the same model. That one looks to be farkled out a bit. He's asking $3.5K, but the prices don't seem to fall out much after that.
Might have to go try it out this weekend. Nothing in the bargain basement is showing up.

Thanks a lot to everyone who gave me some advice here. I kissed a few frogs while looking for this one. I would not have known what to look for. It really helped!
