Just a li'l solo ride on a beautiful day. Pic taken w/ cellphone. Sorry about the quality.
Nice, looks like the winds cleared everything out.

You ever take your GS from Silverado up to the peaks? I've taken my old jeep up there a few times, but can't remember how rocky it was toward the top. Wondering how bad it would be...

Santiago Peak?

Bergermeister,

That pic was taken at the radio towers on Santiago peak (someone correct me if I'm wrong). You can see the tower shadows in the pic. I don't have a map of the area. Looking on Google Maps doesn't show the peak.

It's been over a year since I've been down the Orange County side. That time I was on an ATK 605. I wouldn't hesitate taking the GS that way. The roads up there are nice and well cared for. Just take it easy and you'll do fine.

I did have some problems finding the beginning of Indian Truck Trail, and getting out on Skyline. Both have changed considerably with all the construction.

Take care,

Tim

Sorry, I washed my GS so I could find out where all of the holes for the missing bolts are after the Full-Moon-Two-Mountains-Great-Sun-Rise-Rob ride this past weekend. Hopefully the locktite on the new bolts will prevent further washings and return us to drought conditions.

I got your sun rise for ya .

Tim, gotta admit, I didn't think I'd have three other morons with me at 0800 the next morning. Tip of the hat to you (TBarstow), John (Luv2race) and Pablo (Espi). 16 hours of non-stop fun. Let's do it again, but not too soon.

I agree with Rob, we (the morons, but with balls) pulled off a long Death Valley kind of ride, but we did it at night. I think I'll wait until spring for the next one. March 13 '09, April 10 '09, or May 8 '09 anyone?

Rob, good call on the 5 Hour Energy drink!
