What time are you heading up? The repair on the DR is done and I'll test it today. If it holds the engine pressure and doesn't explode, I may join you.

A bike off the side is just as bad and could have caused a fire. Not rippin you, just letting you know these treads are watched.
Okay. Thanks for the heads up. No more of that. Sorry.

Thanks man. The bike was off the ledge yesterday... Bigfoot the good samaritan?????? However it happened, that's great!!! I'm forwarding all this to the owner and we'll figure out how to get him back up there.

Wow, how far over did it go? Weren't you going up to get it today. I almost had a "over the edge" coming down the north side of Trabuco Peak today. Luckily landed in a big bush that kept me and the bike from going over. Damn loose rock downhills. At least all the protecto stuff did it's job. Just lost a PIAA light cover and the AUX light.

Main Divide North Sept 4

No surf today but got a great ride ... left the house and rode straight down PCH to Dana Point then a quick run up Ortega. Some traffic on Ortega with a sport bike wedged pretty tight under a guard rail. Off Ortega on onto Main Divide North ... first time in a long time all the gates were open. The roads were in great shape except for a loose rocky patch coming down Trabuco Peak ... took a little tumble and rolled some bushes, oh well, at least all the protecto stuff worked.

Everything is pretty green up there right now

lots of rain squalls passing over today

This shot was amazing with Mt Baldy off in the distance

Got a hall pass

Going for a ride this morning, at the Maple Springs gate around 8:15AM. Ride to the towers, then back down to the madness. Conditions should be just about perfect.

Nice to see a whole new batch of noobs out this year.
However, with the pictures that are being posted, I'll bet only about half of them will still be riding by the end of the year.

Great ride today! A lot of people out. Weather was nice but it did rain on us at, I believe, Four Points to the top and then all of the way down. Got to talk to a handle of dual sport riders up there and it was just an overall a perfect ride. Glad we went up earlier cause it did get busy as soon as we got to the bottom and to the gate.

I was up there today too. I had to see if the JB weld was going to hold, so I started in Anaheim, went to Seal Beach, down PCH to Jamboree to 405 to Lake Forest to Trabuco to El Toro to Santiago to Silverado. Got to the gate and said fuck it as I heard the dirt calling me. Took my time because I didn't put the skid plate back on. I rode to the peak then down to Ortega at a slow pace, I almost forgot how nice the mountain was as I was taking it all in by myself enjoying the moist dirt. Took a right on Antonio then the back way through Live Oak and Santiago Canyons. 153 miles total and it didn't leak at all. Here is a pic of the JB Weld patch. It's almost a skid plate by itself. It held up fine but it's built up so I gotta modify the skid plate attachments.

Nice! That's one crazy patch job! What time were you up there and what were you on. We may have stopped and chatted. I was on my KLR650, my buddies were on their DRZ400 and a Husky 410 and then a Red 2500 Turbo Diesel Truck
