and that good sirs is why I don't get on the trail any later then 8am...dodging pick ups and mountain bikers that cant stay on the correct side of the road is no fun. but it helps the reflexes

Don't get me wrong I will play some apex fun but that is IF I got a clean line of sight and know there is nothing on the other side.

I think I need to go check out this Rowher everybody is talking about

I was riding up there Sunday and there was a new surprise I've never seen before. Not far past the Santiago Peak, and on the way to Holy Jim trailhead, I rode by a hiker laying ACROSS the road. That hiker is fortunate I ride slower than old people phuck or else I would have ran over his legs. It was a close call even then as he was lying in the shadows. I did manage to find the highest survey marker on the mountain. Someone with me even managed to ride their bike up the rocks and I got a pic with him, the bike, and the marker.

I know most of these trails are pretty tame, but wondering how one would do on street tires? Would love to take the X up there, but don't want to get stuck somewhere stupid.

People drive Honda Accords up there.

It's basically a dirt road with one or two rocky sections.

Edit: A WR250 will be fine.

Toyota Camry would be my weapon of choice.

I've done it a few times on a 1200gs with street tires, no trouble. you should have no trouble on a 250. Just air down.

I have been up to Palomar Divide and remember passing Holy Jim another time, both in the Jeep. One of the trials had some sandy sections and the other a few steep rocky climbs. Do not recall which is which as it was more than a year ago. I am all for exploring, and so is the sidekick (she has a wr-x as well). Our 2 wheel off-road experience equates to a few tame fire roads we found on Camp Pendleton behind our old shop and 20ft into some deep sand.

Thanks for the quick responses. She will be back from playing war at the end of the week, so we might see some of you up there soon!

Yea dunerat, it was cracking me up as well, but due to my interest in extending grace to someone who should not have posted what they did representing their employer. Sh1t happens, I'll not keep stirring the pot, I'll just bring my business elsewhere. I will tell you I laughed my a$$ off when I made that sig tho...wow, what a statement LOL! Have a nice day indeed!

Don't be a puss. Besides all the cliquey squares have seemed to abandoned adv because we are too rowdy anyway. Having the Irvin Seaver BMW parts guy flame you on here just goes to show how the brand BMW turns you into one of "them". No thanks, I'll stick to my rice burners.
