While technically not MY bike, it was mine for the term of the rental agreement.
![]() ![]() The guy on the bench was a friendly bloke I met there, Steve I believe his name was. This is smack in the middle of Putty Road in NSW between Sydney and the Hunter valley. And oh yeah, those are really the pumps you use for fuel.

Hey Gaspipe!
Here's one for you in N. Nevada - a guy from Peru (no Spanish) hand pumping special, high altitude 92 octane refined in Reno from a 55 gallon drum. "how many gallons? (all hand signals)" - "uhhhhh, 2?" Soldier Meadows, Nevada '05

ok, fine. I'll play.. here's one from a ride deep in the mountains of Idaho along the Salmon River last summer.. we had ridden about 100 miles through the mountains and was hoping there was fuel to be had here.. this was the only building other then cabins in the area. The pumps actually still work except they use electric instead of hand pump.. problem was they were out of fuel and it was at least 60 miles to the next fuel up in Montana.. which was just about my maximum range.. we made it the next day with my bike running on fumes..
