What W/S is that??? It looks made for the Sherpa ??? Nice GPS placement.
Just put a generic Deflecta Shield on mine but haven't tested it yet...but @ 5'9" I look right over the top, so there might be hope...That one looks to have a good laminar air flow slott on the bottom to get the turb's above your head.....is it so ???

Ouch...Ouch...Ouch
Yesterday morning on my way to work at about 7:00 am a deer got me...
It was a small deer about the size of a large dog. It shot out of the ditch and tried to fit in between my front wheel and the motor. I was doing about 80 klm or 45 m/h. I went a tumbling. The deer didn't make it. My Sherpa did ok. It lost both blinkers on one side, headlight and now has a few scratches. It should ride again, I dropped it off at the Kawi. dealer to get checked out. I guess I blacked out for a bit and thanks to a lady that stopped (I found out last night she was a fellow rider) she kept me in place until the ambulance arrived. I am pretty sore but no real damage, thanks to the gear I was wearing. For my birthday and last Christmas all I asked for was money to buy some armor bike clothes. I also was wearing my full face helmet. By the look of my helmet and armor coat (I will send pictures soon) they are what took the brunt of me sliding along the pavement. If I was not wearing a full face helmet my face would be gone... So I will ride again, The Sherpa will ride again. I just wanted to pass this story along to everyone to encourage all bikers even on small bikes like the Sherpa to go get some protective gear and wear it even if it is hot or you are just going around the corner. Question as to the source of the BMW W/S for the Sherpa??
Hey MRBOWENZ,.....
Some of the guys over on the Yahoo Super Sherpa Forum are interested in your W/S set up....but haven't been able to source your W/S.... Is it a stock or aftermarket unit........I can't seem to place it and I'm even familiar with BMW stuff... Can you help us out with a clue???

I just posted these photo's over at the Yahoo group site, this is a stock r1100 GS W/S , I had to rout cut outs for the turn signals, and add standoff bolts and gromets , on the inside I added some aluminum bars for support, but the result is great , no noise or airflow issues whatsoever. It also provides a nice cockpit for the GPS , riding glasses and a place to hide for increased speed . ask any additional questions here or there . mrbowenz |

That's Pretty COOL.... From my BMW experiences, it was always the 1100GS W/S that didn't provide so good a coverage....
Now it seems that it was just mounted on the wrong bike all along...

i finally got to sit on a sherpa saturday, a 2009. i sure liked the looks, and the fit, but when i sat, the rear suspension seemed close to bottoming out. i'm 6-1 with average inseam and LOOONG body and arms. i weigh 196 without gear, 10-15 more with gear. any of you sherpa fans my size or bigger? as much as i like it, i seem to overpower it ...

She must be way tougher than me though, I can't imagine doing 1000 miles on the stock seat. Just looking at that tank over 1/2 the seat makes my knees hurt too - being able to move around & change position on the seat was a lifesaver for me. Cheers Clint
