20070913 5 degrees, cloudy

We wake up at 07:30 as usual. The breakfast is served, cakes and sugar, and chocoloate to put on the plasted toast, yuck. Italy is not the place for brekafasts I can tell you.
Outside Sport Hotel:

After fuel up, Anders stops and says he can't use the clutch. We make a stop and checks it out. It seems the reservoir is empty. We tops it off and it works again. Anders decides to go to the nearest KTM dealer to get it fixed permanently

Tyre wear, Super enduro left, HP2 right:

Next pass, Sommelier pass:

At the top, 3000m above sea level:

In the past people where riding all the way up here, no more, A wooden fence blocks access.

Skiing anyone?

The view is fantastic:

On the way down again:

A quick lunch in the sun

Jafferau pass:

Next, Asietta kamstrasse:

Roads everywhere. You can easily spend a few days in this area:

Lot's of Super Enduro Roads. Some of them difficult to reach even with MT21.

Some old factory buildings at the top:

After the pass, Meana Di Susa:

Where is all your gear? You seem to travel very light?
Did you have a basecamp and then daytripping from there?

Since we sleep in hotels we can travel light. I have the largest 1200GS tail bag from touratech. It fits really fine on the SE. Most people run with a packbag, but it will allways reach the exhaust system on the SE and melt down.

Beautiful, Beautiful!
Great photos! I've been riding on Alps but on road. Only a little gravel going to Passo Del Stelvio! It's astonishing!
Congratilations

Incredible pictures Kave, especially the one where you see the winding road through the grass

What gear? For what purpose? Most of us had around 6-7 kg including the weight of the bags. That's more than enough for a week when you stay in hotels. We stayed mostly only one night in each hotel so we had to carry everything with us.

100+ kg is only needed by Tommies who imagine themselves being on the "long way round".

I live in Northern New England in the states and our mountain rides are great,
but these pics put us to shame. I expected to see Heidi and Grandfather any
moment! I hope do a trip some day, never done more than an overnight!!
Thanks for the entertainment!!

Well, to put it short, the 950SE is a quicker bike to handle. It's shorter, has sharper angle on the forks so it will steer shaper in the corners. On the tarmac it reminds of a supermotard bike.
