This was the first RR I ever read on ADV. I had just bought a Dakar like Michnus was riding, and daydreamed all winter reading this until I could ride it!

I saw it pop back up and had to read it again!

I just read this for the first time! 7 years later and this is still a timeless Story!

Thank you for sharing it!

I think I've read this ride report 5 times minimum.
I don't believe I'll ever see anything like it again. Ever.

Utmost Respect.

Probably THE greatest RR I ever read on ADVrider, and there is some VERY stiff competition here.

Laugh This is where I found ADV...

Several years ago someone sent me a link to this Ride Report. Metaljockey and his cronies blew my mind with their adventures! I have been hooked ever since and have many hours of enjoyable reading and down right awe of the folks riding africa, asia, middle east, hell, the world.
So I think it is only fitting that I make my first post on this report.

Now I am ready to jump in with the inmates and share my appreciation for what you folks are doing and start asking some Q's as I wean myself back off the heavy metal and get back into some adventure!

trip in angola

looking for infos on this area, trabvelled by bike,

i just found your posts and cools contents someone sure you can give me the right info i m lioiking for

ive been travelling in angola as well with my unimog couples of years ago - and travels very often off road with my adv 640 in kaokoland.

i wants to go back to angola with my 640 adv more or less the same route

first, dont find what period of the year you did it and how many days was your trip. can you tell me?

as well i m wondering about petrol range beetween bikes - my 640 makes 20km/l ( i ll say travelling off road in kaokoland for exemple, if i m very light on throttle ) but with my adv 950 ( i ve one as well, ) i make a 15km/l so with the 26l of the 640, i cover over 500km and with the 22 l of the 950 330km

if you took 56l of petrol on your 640 you can make 1100km, but the 950 only make 800.

at the end how many kils did you make without refueling?

that wil help for my setup! and i dont want to take useless petrol quantity!

and i ll go with 2 others 640 to better organize spares , loads.
