This is the best ride report I've read ever. It's like I'm on the ride! Great stuff.

No kidding Nat.

Baldy should change the entire (old and tired) front page rotation to entirely pics from this report!

I tried explaining this RR to guys I was with this weekend and couldn't even begin, so I sent them all a link this AM.

Wow!

Stunning story telling! After the anticipation and suspence over the weekend, I too feel like collapsing from exhaustion. Can't wait for what I hope will be tomorrow. Good one MJ.

I didn't want to comment the teaser pic, but now...
I find this image... well, disturbing. The way that sand is slowly swallowing the gear... scary.

Unfuckingreal. This is one of those stories you carry with you all day saying to yourself "Wow! Wow! Wow!". I keep telling my work mates "You should read this" as I'm sure many others here have been doing. Fabulous photos and narrative MJ. Bravo!

The Benguela current, is what causes the desert, like in Chile, its an Arctic current, icy cold water offshore so no chance of rain just damp cold mist, trust me that must have been tough.

Respect..

Having spent some time surveying on the skeleton coast of Namibia, i know what its like stuck near the coast in a desert.
Its a very very loanly place and your mind can play some strange tricks on you, even with mates about.

I take my hats off to you guys.. I was born in Rhodesia, love africa and you have reminded why.. cannot wait to hear the rest.
