Just a refresher to remind the new guys to read what I consider the best adventure ever.

Since I wrote this way back in October I've started riding, and love every second of it.

This thread got me here, and ADVRider got me on a bike. So I have you guys to thank for getting me into this wonderous thing we call riding.

Thank you.

Bad Pic!

I'm obviously quite late w/ this comment but,

I just gotta laugh at the (Can't take a bad pic of this girl) line earlier on.

How do you take a bad pic of any 1/2 - naked 16 yr. old girl ??????????

That's awesome! It got me here on ADV, too. Definitely has made me re-think my priorities in life. Welcome and be safe (-ish )

Thank god this thread got bumped so many times... I might never have seen it otherwise

Two days and almost 1,000 posts read... and it's all already been said. Unbelievable. Unbefuckinglievable.

This report brought me to tears, mostly laughing out loud at the exceptional writing and pictures! I hope you guys are still reading the replies to this RR to know how much you have impressed us all. I was deeply moved by your friendship with Jose and how difficult it must have been to see the damage to the people and country. This has just made me even more grateful to have a bike and be able to ride! Cheers!

Fantastic story, the kind of trip we all dream about, but don't have the guts to undertake.

Man, this made me miss Africa a lot. Been living in the US since 1984, and have not been back since 1999.
