Excellent adventure! It demonstrates once again that it’s not an adventure unless your ass is on the line. Carry your own fuel and water or die? Also proves that people just want to get along, governments are the problem.
Where to next?

Simply fantastic read. Thanks for sharing with everybody. The adventure, the danger, and most of all the beautiful people you encountered. Stunning is all I can come up with... I'm speechless. I am looking at 10 inches of snow out my window, but I feel like I just dumped a pile of sand out of my boots.

I have read this ride report at least 20 times over the last year and it still reads the same. The emotion of an amazing journey. Wow. It really helps to motivate me to get out and ride. Today in Colorado its flippin cold but this ride warms me up and makes me feel optimistic about people and the world that we search out on two wheels.

Work, what a waste of energy. I know we all have to work to pay our bills and be able to afford the riding lifestyle we have chosen. But, in my life I have let my job get in the way of living one too many times. I'm now 40 years old and have pursued my "career" ad naseum. Now I have reached my goal for today and feel like I have missed out as a result. Isn't that funny!

A ride like this puts all that career crap into perspective. All I really wan't to do is become a better rider and ploy that trade around the country and the world. I suppose we all feel that way. We desperatly want to live life without all the distractions but they tend to get in the way.

When you see how people can live and thrive in areas outside of our instant gratification WalMart society, you realize how false some of it is. Now I appreciate good roads, hospitals, cell phones, and the ability to earn a decent wage. But I also think that somehow we live a little less as a result. Hmmm, more to ponder.

Anyway, thanks for this report on your trip. I don't think you guys realize how powerful it is. Especially for those of us who are also ex-military. Meeting "the other side" is a powerful thing.

I am thinking that I'd like to keep my adventures a bit milder than entering a kill sack or riding miles in deep sand & in the ocean!
