i would still go with the shinko 244 for mostly street. last long and ready for offroad if you need them.

I have used Shinko 244's and currently have a Shinko 705 rear and a 244 front. I don't think they would use them on a heavy beastie, but for the KLR I've had pretty good luck. The 244 wears fast on the rear, 705 is pretty good.

I have Pirelli Scorpions, which are 70/30. I don't know if they make them in your size, but I love 'em.
