Thanks for the suggestion but it's not width that is the challenge. The Trackmaster backbone is arched just in front of the seat. The Sportster is a straight run from the headtube to under the seat. For the Harley tank to sit down properly, the back of the tunnel needs to be about 3" deeper.

This was my Pornoshop of the Sporster tank installed on the bike. To get it to sit down over the engine like this will require the tunneling.

This shot is a little crooked but Im making a lame attempt to race a 250 Elsinore which just didnt handle like a flattrack bike at all.

Where was that photo taken? It almost looks like the old Hayward track. I raced Dist 36 in the 200 and 650 classes about the same time. This photo is from a 200cc race at Vallejo. In your area I also rode Pioneer for rough scrambles a couple of times.

Quit racing in the late 70's and moved to Oregon. Bought this street tracker in 2006 after nearly 30 years without a bike.

Yeah, I hunted all over the web last night. I found the same two photos in a few other places but that's it. Oh well, that one was worth it. I needed to see the details of the master cylinder. Mine has been altered and I was really unsure what I was trying to get it back to. After seeing that photo, this mess makes sense.

My only guess for why somebody built that Rube Goldberg brake linkage is that the kickstarter won't clear the master cylinder (a guess right now--I haven't verified).
