Everything but the hand guards and heated grips. Most dealers will carry some decent items though. Oh and welcome in advance to the fold.

Thumb Holy $#!T!

I just came out from under the a rock and discovered this animal!

I think I'm in love. Thanks to Kaw for listening! What a beauty. I thought the Transalp was the last adv bike I'd ever need, but I may have been mistakin'. Yummy.
Anybody have any experience with the Happy-Trails.com bash plate? Looks a little cheesy.

I want a 250 FI Versys, Kawasaki needs to address the small bike market even more. that will be come the coming trend with gas prices and the economy. Maybe 2011 they will have it.

Kaw sells luggage it's made by Givi, but says Kawasaki on it, so I just got the Givi, in case I wanted to use the hard bags on a non kawasaki later. Don't think they sell hand gaurds or heated grips, I just used aftermarket there are many of them our there. Kaw does offer a "tall" windscreen but it ain't much, (I have one I'd sell) I whent with a California Scientific,http://calsci.com/motorcycleinfo/Versysprod.html and like it very well. Mine is the xxlarge, I'm 5'11", my wife has the large, she's 5'4".

Think there's a picture here of that setup?

Use "search this thread" function. Should be easy to find.

Nice bike! Who makes the skid plate you have bolted on... I'm looking for an alternative to the Happy Trails skid plate.

That looks like the algard unit. I have one also and it's a nice piece of gear. Check out http://www.versys.info/versys/

Damn, that's one nice V. I am really falling for the V. Leaning towards getting one.

The local dealer has a blue and a green one. 09's. If they are there a few months I bet I can get a killer deal.

Last of the '09's

Thanks.

My local dealer has their last new '09 (a green one), priced at $5900.

I don't know if they're asking for anything on top of that, like prep/assembly, destination charge, etc., but I doubt it - they're a pretty straight-shootin' dealership.

In any event, that price is about $450 less than I paid for my brand new '08 when I bought it (back in July of '08)

It's been awhile since I've posted an update and I figure my upcoming two-year anniversary is as good as any.

On the 16th it will be two years since I bought my Versys and I can't be happier with the bike. The only thing that makes me unhappy is that I don't get to ride it more often, weather here in Colorado hasn't cooperated much since just before Halloween, so it's been sitting more than getting ridden.

I'm just over 14,000 miles, which puts me at just over 6,000 miles since my one year anniversary - or about 2k miles less than in my first year. That's kind of shocking to discover, because it seems like I've been riding it just as much (other than for the last two months). Of course, most of my time on the bike is commuting, about 40 miles a day. I did manage to get in a 600 mile day this summer, but overall I don't get out for too many weekend pleasure rides.

Not too much to report since my 1-year anniversary (http://www.advrider.com/forums/showp...ostcount=1787). The only thing worth mentioning is a new pair of Shinko 009 Raven tires which I put on around 8500 miles and it's looking like I'll be getting more life out of them than I did the crappy stock tires. I definitely recommend the Shinko tires if you're looking for a good, inexpensive tire. My only complaint is they take some time to warm up when it's cold out.

I did briefly consider selling the bike last spring - my wife and I put our bikes up for sale at the same time, but we were only selling the one that sold first. Thankfully her's is the one that went. It's looking like I should have "title in hand" in maybe a month or so, if that's the case, then the bike will be staying for awhile - I won't be able to afford another bike payment for some time.

Not much else is planned for the Versys coming up, other than regular maintenance. I think I'll do the plugs at 15k and while they still look OK, I think a new set of brake pads is in order. I guess maybe a chain is in the near future as well.

I'm hoping this summer to ride it from Colorado to Wisconsin to visit my dad and grandparents, so that trip should make up for the lack of miles I put on it this year.

Let's hope the next two years are as good as the last two.
