I don't dislike the engine braking but simply need to get used to it. I also need to work out my shift points better as the revs fall at a better rate when I shift higher.

I did some googling but couldn't find heads or tail of a Versys-specific "air mod." Could you point me in the right direction? TIA.

I think the "Air Mod" has something to do with a vacuum line:

32,000 miles on the Versys, five months and 13,000+ miles on this ride.
A couple of problems but overall the Versys has been great

Did you know they are changing the Shinko 705? Something about the compound.

Did you raise the front fender?

My new toy with with only 25 miles (weather has been crappy) , I have made a few minor changes but have plans for a front fairing and fender swap. I have the new fairing & fender but still need quite a few parts yet..

I replaced the radiator fan just before this journey began. I had to replace the alternator in Colombia and cracked the oil pan in Peru. Hey JD, that front Tourance has 15,100 miles on it and will get me to TDF. Thanks again!

in remember that PM. i think i said that you could expect at least 12k out of the front, so i guess i was off a little. that 130/80 and 150/70 in the tourance has to be the premier long range setup for that bike. i agree when you said that the big 130/80 helps prevent front wheel damage on those rough roads, that was my experience also.

you're writing a big chapter in the versys book, showing it to be a very capable bike.

i have some distant cousins in punta arenas, maybe i should go visit.

would a 19" front wheel with TKCs help ya out some? here ya go.



that's a versys suspension on there, so everything fits a for real versys exactly the same.
