At the local dealer over the weekend, I see they have two new 2011s (in beautiful Metallic Imperial Red!). One they're discounting to $7,299 and one is listed at $6,999.
Why would they be discounting them different amounts? Both have zero miles. If there's nothing "funny" going on, one of these may follow me home!

Your not really going to have to worry about the exhaust. It's pretty solid. Deep water maybe. I've not had any problems and I ride offroad a lot.

A few pics of my mate offroading on his Versys before snapping the foot peg and gear lever off for the second time in a year.
![]() Is that a common fault with the Versys? ![]() ![]() Three of us went down in this lovely looking ford from hell. ![]() ![]() He got all crossed up and and ended up facing the wrong way. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The Versys doubling as a turf cutter. ![]() This fall on rocks ended the offroading by snapping off the foot peg. ![]() ![]() After that it was time to find a repair solution so we set off to the nearest village. With a garage found and a repair made we made our way home. ![]() ![]() All set for a wonky ride home. ![]()

Not sure about the Versys, but on my 06 636 I bust off the rear brake lever twice... I hope the stock rear set is stong enough because I'll be standing up on it as opposed to just resting a foot on it... Anyone else have any feedback, or know if there are after market rear set? Steel perhaps? -Ming |

Hepco & Becker Rack question
Hi There fellow V riders..
I have a question for you all, well those of you with racks for the most part, buut any ways :P I'm in the process of adding a set of H&P side racks on my V but I'm not sure if it will be working as intended. I am planing on taking my daughter on a small outing to south Sweden this summer, and I am wondering if it will be possible for her to ride pillion with that rack mounted or it will interfere with her seating ?? Any help would be appreciated /Lars R

2011 versys owner here. Coming from my 1982 cafe racer, this is a much needed upgrade. So far i have liked everything about the versys.

The foot peg assembly breaks off in just about every tip over that's not in grass in my experience. More than once I had to ride my girlfriend's Versys home with no foot peg or shifter after she had a 0 mph tip over in a parking lot. The pegs, shifter, and rear break are all attached to the bike with a weak peace of cast aluminum. She dropped the bike 3 times, and every time the peg assembly broke off just like your mate's did. YMMV.
