the Algard gravel guard was the first commercially available belly protection for the Versys and came from eastern Europe, presumably manufactured to first satisfy local demand. exquisite fabrication, too bad he quit making them. the guards were advertised as protection when riding gravel roads, so at least some riders over there must have put the Versys on gravel.
Yeah, I'm not saying there aren't any offroad attempts, but they're probably
rare compared to the rest of the world as far as I can see here and on some
dedicated Kawi forums.

Last Versys I saw had a 52l topcase and Bridgestone 002 racing tires..
...properly used too!

My mileage is approaching 45mpg, from a long time 40mpg average, I think I am slowing down a little. 15,000 miles now and no problems, no maintenance other than oil and air filter and chain lube.

Something I failed to post when it happened:

One day, I was sitting at a left-turn lane light, when a big F350 pulled up next to me, driven by a middle aged cowboy (lots of them here in TX). He leaned out the window and said, "Man, that's the toughest lookin' bike I've ever seen."

That is a good looking rig. It's becoming my second choice behind a KLR.

Hey Jake, I lived in Fredricksburg in 1974 for a few days.........

Ower since June 2008

Pushing 30K with trips out of Colorado to Pacific Ocean twice, British Columia, Nebraska, and all over the Front Range. It's been a tremendous bike.

No Dragon? No Snake? Noo Problem.

A video of Sunday afternoon hooliganism on my Versys. Fresh paved top coat that has been down just long enough for oil to be scrubbed off. I scooted this reach three times along with a bunch of similar that are not as nicely surfaced. Figured the 3rd pass both ways by a local deputy’s house as he was trying to enjoy watching football with that little parallel twin wailing by was pushing my luck, so I left his county (his is the first house at top of ridge at about 6:20-25, orange cone marks his driveway). Pure fun!

Southern Almost Heaven. More specific info will require a field trip to WV and lots of good beer on you after we run it!

Thank you for taking time to watch it. And yep, SE Almost Heaven esp for motorcycling. The fresh top coat has just been down long enough for the cagers to scrub off the oil...it is the snitz right now to be sure.

The more I look at the Versys, the more I like it. (Does that make me weird?)

Are there any "must do" fixes or are these proving to be pretty bulletproof?

Who here has the most miles on a stock engine?

I haven't heard of a kawasaki having major problems (even small problems are
rare) with ANY of their bikes in the past 5 years that I've been watching
closely.

There's people with over 100k miles on the 650R/Versys 650 engines..
