How do you like that Seats Concepts seat Paul? Have you ridden very long/far on it?

I just did a 40 mile run and it is much better than the stock seat. It is dished in the rear an a touch taller, so it pulled me further from the bars. I just ordered bar risers. I think I am going to like it. The nice thing about it is that you dont have to send off your seat and remain seatless until the new seat comes in. I had a local upholsterer do it for me for 50 bucks, so for a grand total of $230 I have custom seat and was only without my seat overnight.

Ditto what Outsidein said. I thoroughly enjoyed the DR and rode it all over the PNW. Good power, love the thump factor, I had mine setup for mainly highway touring with the occasional gravel road. The Versys was an upgrade in every way except weight. More power, good handling, fuel injection. Basically going from a 90's bike to a current model. But I'd buy a DR again in a heartbeat for its reliability, cost/fun factor, easy maintenance if I rode more dirt road stuff. Took the Versys out to Torroweep overlook on the Grand Canyon and the DR would of been the cat's meow but the V did fine and was better on the rest of the road trip. I like them both, just take them for what they are ----kinda atomic bomb bang for the buck that will haul you anywhere the $15,000 -$25,000 bikes will. rj

I currently have a 2008. Just wondering if you notice much difference and what those differences are?

Just had a Scorpion front tire put on today. The front Road Pilot 2 actually wore out before the rear. The rear is still the RP 2 with lots of tread left. The unworn round front tire profile feels different. The front RP 2 wore down to a V profile. Still I think the RP 2 had a more secure grip on pavement hard to say for sure. Will be installing a rear Scorpion when the rear wears out. Not sure at this point if I should have gone to RP 3s or Scorpion, time will tell.

Another one that says "I wore out the sides before the middle. PR II is one awesome tire. I have one on now with a PR3 waiting for this one to wear out. I will be putting the PR3 on the rear in a few days.

I ran PR II on my BMW and loved the traction but hated the noise of the front tire. I can hear the same noise on my Versys.

I commute so the dual compound works out great.

I like the look of the headlights better but can't tell any other difference. Color is MUCH better too I guess. :) I wouldn't have upgraded, I sold the first one when I moved and bought the current one when I moved back.

I've had my Versys for just over a year now and a while since I posted any updates or mods I've done to the bike.
First off, I think it's a brilliant middleweight and still has the fun factor. I've added an SW Motech rear rack and have the adaptor plate for the new Givi Monolock 34ltr topbox I recently bought.

I did try a Powerbronze flip screen, but it introduced too much buffeting to the peak of my Arai TourX. I also tried the MRA Vario screen (borrowed of a fellow owner) and it too didn't help, so I've stuck with the stock screen and I don't think it's worth spending any more trying out any others.

A pair of Keis heated grips help keep the chills at bay.

A HID light for the dip hopefully helps the dozy motorists to see me.

The KTM SMT handguards are brilliant and fitted quite neatly too with a little thought.

A new set of Bridgestone 023's transformed the grip.

I also took a demo ride on the Triumph Explorer, but for the money, I'll stick with the Versys for a while longer.

I took the stock screen off of my '11 and went for a ride. My helmet (RF1000) was dead quiet in the clean air. Guess what's not going back on my V!

First real off road experience on the Versys today.

Here it is wedged upright in a rut.

Not exactly ideal Versys terrain, but we still had some fun!
