They are. I am quite happy with them, but they do NOT hold a full-faced helmet inside, unlike the v35's. As I have the top-case, that wasn't my main concern and they are a little narrower, wich won it for me.

Also, I got them at almost half the price I'd get the v35's and in black they are pretty neat with the black bike, no need for the colored strip on the v35's

They offer the screen in 2 sizes. I bought the touring version. It works great. I'm 6 ft tall and wind protection is excellent.

Ummm, 45?
But on my commute I ride 80-85 mph whenever I can and I accelerate from stops like I mean it. Especially that first doesn't do wonders for getting high mileage.
Oh, and mine is red. So it is the fastest one.

49 mpg almost every tank.

I keep it spinning, rarely use High gear and don't go over 70 much.

Yep, higher speeds are death for fuel mileage on the Versys. If I do much freeway time on a tank, I don't see 50 mpg.

The 26.5K is for other markets. US bikes have a 15K adjustment interval.

52, from the day I brought it home, freeway, side roads, high speed, commuting. I've never seen less than 51. And mines also red, so not only is it the fastest, it gets the best mpg!

1st service done (it's just an oil change) and I've been riding some more. I'm really surprised this bike isn't more popular than it is. It does everything quite well: fast when you need it, comfortable, good 2-up, fuel efficient, long range tank, etc. Is it an image issue? I used to think the first model was quite ugly...

Test rides should be made available. I'm sure a lot more people would buy a Versys if they could test ride one.

Cry Wanted: Versys

Hey fellas - dyin' to join this group, just need the bike. Live in CO Rockies, 1 1/2 hours from Colorado Springs, 1 1/2 hours from Denver, on a dirt road 7300' up. Looking to get back into riding, on a Versys. Got one for sale? Willing to travel for the right bike - any color but red. I don't currently enjoy the type of income to spend top $$ on my toy, hoping to find one in the @$4K range. Seriously, when you're done laughing, do you really need that bike in the back of your garage? Wouldn't some cash towards your NEXT one make you happier? I promise pics if I can just find one I can afford. Thanks, Samk

oh, and thanks for the great forum. I read and turn green w/ envy on a regular basis. (Previous bike stolen out of shed, just after quitting gov't job and embarking on art career. Nice, huh? Only consolation - it was a Suzuki DRX650. Could have been worse.)

Checked and adjusted throttle body balance yesterday. Below is a pic showing my homemade manometer, tank spun around and strapped to bike, and air box pulled off. Balance was out about 6" of ATF at idle; no idea what pressure that translates to, no matter. Bike felt noticeably smoother once balanced. Search on the kawi forum for more info on how to do this.
