At approximately 0830 this morning my beloved “Burro” passed on. She suffered massive hemorrhaging losing all vital internal fluids. There were no other injuries. No memorial service is scheduled at this time.

2008 w/ 75,360 miles. It was a good run.

Sorry to see that, I recognize your bike, that color....., maybe you just have a leak and it's fixable.

Wha? Two V failures this week? Please tell more details, I assume hole in crankcase to puke oil all at once? Broke con rod, cam chain? It would be helpful to know. I don't consider that to be high mileage at all on modern engines.

The chain broke and hit the case. I will have to wait to get home from work to find out how extensive the damage is. Anyone have a Ninja 650 motor for sale near Boise ID?

I put my Versys up on the rear stand last month to clean the chain and as I was spinning the wheel I noticed a kink in the chain, upon closer inspection, I spotted that a chain plate had split in half. Plan to check it weekly now.

limp mirror help!

Aloha,

Versys owner here on Oahu with a somewhat unique problem. The round piece just below my right mirror cracked clean off and now I've a limp mirror!

I'm looking to replace it, but the oem diagrams don't offer this piece alone. I don't want to buy the whole $72 assembly cause I don't need a new mirror, just the lil round piece directly under it. Any ideas fellow Versys riders?

Mahalo

Aprilia Tuono right mirror # AP8104921, left # AP8104922
About $50 for both. Far superior to the OEM.

How old was the chain and what make? How many miles on chain and would you say that it was due for replacement? I ask because information like that can help us all.

Really sorry for your bad luck. If you can't find a replacement engine and decide to replace with another V, you could part out the broke bikes parts and help recoup some loss. Also could move all the parts that you added on over to the new bike.
