That's one reason I went with a Versys. I'm 6'2, 290. That pretty much eliminates anything but an adventure tourer style motorcycle. Although I did fit on the ZX-14 rather comfortably

Looks like you've owned a lot of bikes, so you should know what works; so I'm curious why you chose the Versys over a Vstrom Wee.

A V7 will go anywhere a Versys will go. With me on it, anyway. I've learned the hard way about trying to make a motorcycle something it's not.

Basically cost. I found a crazy deal on a brand new leftover '12. The brand new Vstrom's are pretty bad ass, but they are getting expensive now. $8500 is a lot of money to spend on a 650 standard. I could drop a little extra and have a used ZX-14. I know apples and oranges but still, $8500 can buy a lot more bike than a Vstrom in my opinion.

Fabbed up a gravel guard yesterday out of a spare KTM skid plate.

Doesn't offer any skid protection as it is mounted to the headers, but it shall serve its suppose. The filter had gotten pretty beat up this last week.

Mounted with a u bolt and high temp silicone wrapped loop clamp.
(Sorry about the larger than life pictures... posting from my phone...

Been looking at the versys for a while now. Really thinking about getting rid of my xt250 and buying a 2012 to 2014 model what ever comes up first . Just wanting a little input on the idea

i'm sure you already know that most TAT roads look nothing like the graded gravel in the photo. some have no grading or gravel.

Vibration, foot pegs

My wife's '09 V has always put out a lot of vibration. It's worst in the footpegs, and worst at ~5000 rpms. What fixes have you all done for vibrations in the footpegs? What other pegs have you tried, and did they fix or improve the vibration?

I'm sure this has been discussed in the thread, but I don't know how to search within a thread :|

Have you done a throttle body sync? That might help a lot.

How does that help with vibrations? Forgive me in advance, as I'm totally ignorant on this subject - just trying to learn.
