220 watts there about. Think we decided the bike needs like 60 watts, so there is plenty for electric vest (100 watts), maybe grip warmers too. The GPS, RD, MP3 player takes like nothing.

Take another look. The kilometer reading is 24000 kms and the mile reading is 15000 mls. So they need to be done at 15000 miles not 24000.

Puke n00b Versys owner, n00b adv guy...

Right, so I picked up my spankin' new Versys May 1st. I stared out with rockets, a CBR 600 being my first. As far as comfort goes, maybe I'm just being spoiled now, but some cats say it's not that comfortable. I put 18,000 on my last rocket, a YZF 600, in my first year, and had no comfort complaints, (You're not in a Caddy, kiddies...) I've got about 2k miles on the Vs, and it's feeling pretty fukken chill to me, I'm 6 ft, about 180, for the record. Coming from sportbikes, this thing is pretty good, not quite the handling I'm used to in the higher speed range, but damn flickable!!! It's an ugly, but cool looking bike to me, fast enough for now, kinda.... I like it. On road, off road, who cares? If you want off road, get a 990ADV or GS, confused? Get this bike, cheap, adaptable....a bit. Me likey!

Looks like he is using a o ring for a throttle lock. They are cheap and they work.

Bingo- it's the Caterpillar o-ring for a throttle-lock. On the Versys it almost works... But it's just not snug enough to hold the throttle open. Once my farkle account recovers, I'll be ordering a Kaoko throttle lock.

On a side note, I'm doing my first oil change today. 2 quarts of oil and a spin-on filter in my garage. How refreshing- after owning an Aprilia.

Does the speedometer shows metric units?

I plan to buy one in miami, but here in brazil we do not understand fancy units.

I'll have to check my manual, but I believe you can change it to KM.

I got the same one on mine! Helps out to stretch the hand on long trips!

We almost match! The 08 Ninja 250 looks nice! My wife won't let me upgrade her though!

It is indeed man.

I did a little house cleaning this year
and sold off a Road King... a hot Rodded Sporty and
a KTM 625 SMC.... arguably an equally weird grouping.

I'm not really sure how i ended up with three Kwaks.
I made some comments to a pal about wanting to ride
the kind of stuff i rode when i was a kid... that is to say Japanese
stuff. So far I'm having myself some serious giggles.
A part of me is feeling the need/desire for something a little
sharper in the sporting department. I rode a 675 for a couple
of days and developed a major crush. I'll be celebrating my 60th
next spring. Isn't the birth bike for that year a 1098?
